  1. @FrnkNsteen I want a slow retrieve reel for those topwater baits and crankbaits. I've discovered that I can't slow my retrieve down all the time so using a slow retrieve reel is my best bet.
  2. Well I want to throw top water baits like poppers, walkers, and buzz baits. So I'm looking for the 6.2:1 reel. I bank fish so I'm not going to be throwing things very far I guess. Nonetheless I'd rather have a 150 size reel. I've got an old 6 ft falcon rod FC-6-16 MH (fast I think) that I'll put it on. (I don't know the jargon for this stuff.)
  3. I'm considering ordering a Scorpion DC, a 150 size reel, from DigiTACA but they are out. I also considered the 22 SLX DC XT 71. It's a little too small though. It is in stock though. Oddly enough the reals are the same price at $207. They carry a 22 CURADO DC 201HG currently at $197. I believe the first two reels have I-DC5 brakes and the Curado I-DC4. Does anybody know which brakes are better? The Reel Test did a cast contest between Scorpion and the Corrado. Surprisingly the corrado won. Good fishing, Jim
  4. Does the Zoom Ole Monster & other big worms you're talking about using with a 1/8 oz. bullet weight cast well on a medium heavy rod?
  5. Coming from a trout background using flies and inline spinners I've never had use for terminal loop knots. Now that I'm learning to fish for bass and crappie I do. (Admittedly there is a loop not used for dry flies but I never learned it or used it.) Are there more than one of these loop knots? Are any of them more reliable than others? I look forward to your replies and learning how to tie a loop knot.
  6. Hey I've got a question about the Hybrid Hunter and it's still May. Which 1 of the colors looks most like a bluegill? Hybrid Hunter @ Strike King Thanks
  7. I'm very interested in the Shimano SLX DC XT for throwing light Ned rigs from Z-Man. Do those of you experienced with the SLX DC XT think it would throw the 1/10 oz/2.8g mushroomhead jig?
