  1. My wifes horn isn't working, 2005 Pontiac Sunfire. I checked the only two fuses I can find labeled "horn". One is s small 15 amp in the inside fuse box, the other is a big 40 amp fuse in the engine compartment fuse box, both are good. I bought a universal horn and wired it like the instructions showed. There is two wires coming from car, black and green. I wired them to the new horn (polarity does not matter) and mounted the horn to the car. Still no horn. I have read about a horn relay and even found the part online, but I cannot locate it on the vehicle. Nothing in either fuse box is labeled for horn other than the two fuses mentioned above. I double checked the labeling from fuse box cover and manual and both are the same. I would really like to replace the relay before I take it to a dealer to tear into the steering wheel. With the airbag in there it is not something I can do, and from what I read, most service shops won't either. Any ideas where this thing might be? It has to be somewhere, they sell the part. Thanks Cliff
  2. I am fishing a man made lake. The creek channel in the one area is very easy to find, even with my junkie electronics. However in my past experience there isn't alot of cover on or in this channel. Do you fish the channel where it drops off, right on top of the drop or off into the channel itself where it bottoms out? If I had to guess with the current lake level, this channel will likely be less than 12 feet deep at the deepest spot. Thanks for the info Cliff
  3. I am a Cowboys fan and my brother is a DIEHARD cowboys fan (we took the tour of the new stadium last year, highly recommended even if your not a fan), while my dad is a huge Giants fan (he has a Giants room out in his workshop). All of us grew up in NY. Bro and Pa live in Ohio now and I am in Texas.
  4. Only two for me, one on t-rigged Rage Craw, green pumpkin. The other on a Bandit 200, pearl/chart back. Texas
  5. I was on a pretty good buzzbait early then jig bite for a while. Have been struggling the last couple weeks, not getting skunked but not getting the numbers or size that I was. Last night a cold front came in, if you can call it that. Highs in the low 90's lows in the 70's. Supposed to be party cloudy and light winds this weekend with around the same temps I mentioned. I am fishing shallow timber, whats left in the water anyway. I have a couple option for locations, one is a decent cove that has timber all the way around, however with the water dropping, not alot of it is still wet. Another is where a major creek enters the lake. Still some wet timber there, plus the creek channel, plus there is a roadbed, however it is very shallow right now, less than 6 feet I would guess. The first location is where I have been doing very well for a few weeks besides the last couple weeks. The second location is a popular spot that I haven't had alot of luck at. Both are on the same lake by the way. There are a few other spots I could try as well but nothing besides that one cove has been good for me in quite a while. I am just looking for any ideas that might get me back on track. Keep in mind, I am in an 8' Bass Raider so I can't fish "big water" or travel very far. Thanks Cliff P.S. It is Lake Waco in Waco, Tx if your in the google earth mood.

Get you some green pumpkin rage craws, texas rig them with a 1/8 oz bullet weight. Then just pitch that baby up into any available cover you can find. Wait for tap, set the hook and enjoy!! Cliff
  7. Thanks for the info guys, I passed it along to my partner, he knows more aboiut it than me and may have some of those baits already. Keep the tips coming, I can never get enouigh. Thanks Cliff

The mess hall I ate at at Ft. Hood was really good, The mess Sgt there seemed to really take pride in his place. It was always nice and clean and the food was great. He also won every time all the mess halls on post did their little contests. I actually went to his home one year for Thanksgiving cuz I had no where else to go. I never had collard greens until then and they rocked!! Along with everything else he made. Cliff
  9. Welcome back! I remember way back when I was first getting started and we had the "members challenge" deal. You challenged me to catch a 2lb bass on a t-rig. I failed! But I didn't give up and eventually did it. Thanks!! Cliff
  10. First let me say I know next to nothing about saltwater fishing. My wifes step dad wants to make another trip to either Port Oconner or Galveston (or another spot if you know a good one) again this year. This time he wants to stay in the bay areas and fish with our regular bass gear and lures, live bait is an option but we both would prefer artificials. I am wondering what species to maybe target? What kind of artificial baits to use? Where to fish, like cover and structure to look for? Any special tackles we need to use like leaders or line? We just want to go out and catch some fish!!! He has a 22' Champion center console if that makes any difference. Any general information on this subject will be very much appreciated. Thanks Cliff
  11. I saw the game and I am a Cowboys fan. As soon as they decide to get a QB I think things will turn for the better. I always hear about how great Romo's stats are. I don't care if you throw for 500 yards every game, if you blow it in the last few minutes you might as well have thrown for zero yards. Romo is too inconsistent for me. I have never liked him but was willing to give him my faith for one more year, Don't know if it will last through the next game. Cliff
  12. I throw what I know well when it is tough. That includes a Rage Craw in Green Pumpkin, A Bandit 200 in Pearl/Chart Back, Blue Fleck Power Worm, and a Chart/White Spinnerbait. Can usually get something on one of those.
  13. Got it Big O, thanks. I returned PM. Cliff
  14. Thats a heck of an offer. I'll tell ya what, you keep your set up and just let me ride around in your boat with you for a day!! Now that would be something special! Cliff P.S. Where is you place anyway?
  15. Left Waco around midnight Friday night and got on the water at Port Oconner around 730am Saturday morning. Went about 15 miles out and as soon as we got there the wind got to blowing. Being in only a 22' Champion, we packed up and headed back to fish the jetties. I caught a small Pompano, a Spanish Mackerel (great fighter) and another fish that was just some kind of long baitfish. My partner didn't catch anything. Left to go home around 2pm Saturday. Got to Temple (my truck was here at in-laws) around 630pm Saturday. Loading up my gear and realize that one of my Lamiglas rods with a Revo is gone from the boat!!!! Ruined my day. I was sick to my stomach. I work hard for my money and I have to save up to buy my gear, I can't just go and replace a $200 combo. Anyway I decide to back track about forty miles to where we last stopped and where I checked and both of my rods were in their place. Could not find it on the side of the road or anything. Now I have another hour plus drive back to Waco. At this point I have been up since 530am Friday morning when I went to work. I was so flippin mad! After the hour drive home I had time to cool down and realized that it is just "stuff". I made a long trip and got there and back safe. We had a good time regardless of the slow fishing and the lost combo. We plan to make one more trip down there this year and try for a Tarpon and/or Shark. Cliff
  16. I just started using them last weekend. I am using a 10" cut down to 6-8 inches. I am riggin in on a keel weighted hook and flippin and pitchin it to timber. Like I said only started with it last weekend, so not alot of luck yet, but I have confidence. Cliff
  17. I log all my trips. Sometimes I do as soon as I get home, other times I wait till the end of the weekend or whatever. This is the first year I have kept one. I think it will be very helpful next year.
  18. I guess I lucked out in the wife department! She rarely calls me while I am on the water, if she does, usually it is important, even if it isn't important, I don't mind the call as long as it isn't every 5 minutes. Sometimes I go fishing in the morning then again the same evening. Guess I am a lucky guy! Cliff
  19. Only Baitcasters for me. I think that if I fished drop shot, or weightless wacky worms, or anything like that I would use a spinning reel, but I just don't throw that stuff. I will throw a weightless fluke every now and then but I have no problems casting it on one of my BC rigs. Cliff
  20. Yeah I do like Big O mentioned and use the TM to move them out. I have done what you said from the bank too, before I had a boat.
  21. Thanks Big O. My gear is a 7'11" Lamiglas Xl7116C/Revo S-L, 20lb Invizx, 4/0 Owner Beast keel weighted hook (1/8). I have never had a fish get me buried in the past too badly. This situation I think I actually yanked the fish right out of the water on the hookset and just happened to pull it right into the log. The fish was hanging from the log...out of water completely, thats how I know it was a good fish, I had a clear view. After a few shakes it flopped back in the water. Anyway, I have a second flippin stick on the way, so now I can have a jig and worm/craw/creature rigged at all times. Thanks! Cliff
  22. Yeah it was like a freak thing, I mean I set the hook and almost instantly it was hung in the log. Honestly I was surprised the fish came out of the water like it did, I am using a pretty heavy stick but it was a good fish, not a dink.
  23. I know that we all know flippin and pitchin jigs and creature baits are the norm. How many of you flip or pitch a plain old worm? Like a Power Worm or a Trick Worm? How do you fish it in comparison to a jig or creature? I used a 10" Thumper this morning, cut down to about 6-7". I had three fish on but all came unbuttoned, don't know why. On one of them, about a 3lber I would say, when I set the hook the fish came clear out of the water and my hook, with bass in tow, lodged into the log the fish was hiding under. So there is my fish dangling from a log!!! I hurried to get to it with the boat but it freed itself before I could get there. Anyway, I was just curious about flippin and pitchin with ordinary worms. Thoughts? Thanks Cliff

Raider Nation, you are a good man, my man! Clayton take the time off man!! I have a brother in law who is over there now and scheduled to be home in October. I know how much his three boys miss him. Thanks for your service, stay low and come home safe!! Cliff

Thanks for the replies guys. I recently made a bunch of jigs then realized I didn't order skirt material that matched a lot of my trailers. I have plenty and don't want to buy more.....yet. So I was just curious about mixing and matching colors. I think I have caught exactly one bass on a black and blue jig. That color just dosen't work for me. i do keep a few in my jig box though. Maybe I will give them another shot. The jig bite has been good recently and I can't wait to get out there. I missed all of last weekend due to a lot of overtime. Thanks again Cliff
