  5. If you get a warm storm blow in, try downwind coves, anywhere that will slightly warm up and collect forage.

  7. I've been on strike! They can keep most of their over priced gas. I walk more these days too.
  8. Im trying to recall the name of that park in Croatia with the amazing huge freshwater springs.
  9. People on private waters will actually ban any gear used elsewhere. It can feel so futile at times.
  10. I think the government concern about grass carp is their spread to areas they are not know to inhabit. Since they are used for aquatic weed control and cost about 8 bucks for each small fish, be careful where you are fishing for them since the property owner may take exception to losing them. They also do become too much of a load for many ponds after they get to larger sizes so some property owners may welcome the help in thinning them out. I love the idea of the cherry tomatoes. Try a few blueberries too.
  11. still too cold out here to think about that.
  12. lol some hatchery trout look like they belong in the circus.
  13. Most of the time high colored water is also cold, so look to areas that are slow and on the edges. You may really surprise yourself.
  14. Most of the time the wind actually will concentrate the forage and the big fish except in cases where water is really fouled. If you see signs of the bait fish, use the wind. If you don't see them and the water looks really fouled, find a downwind area of cleaner water. Early season fishing on the windward shore can be even better since lake water will warm there first.
  15. If the floating algae mats cover large areas of a fishing pond avoid them since the shaded water beneath them may be low in oxygen. The larger fish may be found under the smaller mats however. ... this is true during calm weather. In windy conditions, the algae can move in quickly so the front edge of those big algae mats can actually be very good.
  16. Im takin up a new sport called walking..... hmmm ok maybe not
  17. too funny!
  18. The strength of America is we can and DO stand up and voice our beliefs.... this will never change and I am very happy to see this thread here. Our future depends upon standards and expectations being voiced by society instead of being eroded by marketers.
  19. look around the net for a story about what would happen if dear Abbey was dear Mr Abbey. it was hilarious!
  20. I found this article to help people decide if pipelining is something they want to try... http://kb.mozillazine.org/Network.http.pipelining
  21. if you could be so gracious... any idea how to get my touch pad to work better with FF? It seems rediculous, but at least half the scrolling features on a touch pad will not work with FF. One would THINK these guys would have figured that out for the bazillions of notebook users who have touch pads... but THANK you for your post!!!!
  22. In warmer weather, fish the upwind shore for the smallies. And try the inlets. They are looking for a little cooler, better water than the largemouths.
