Well I went a totally different route. I went into Cabelas and they had the Extreme XML on sale for $99 and I went with that. Went out today for a just a little and really liked it.

Does anyone know who makes these? Just curious. I bought one today and feels really smooth and nice.

Thank you all! I appreciate your feedback and experiences. Should I focus on a medium heavy rod or medium? This will mostly be for bass but may see trout as well. Most fish don't get real big where I am in Utah.

First post here. Hello everyone! Just getting into using baitcaster reels. Does anyone have experience with the Quantum Smoke X 100? Tacklewarehouse has it in clearance for about $110. I'm looking to get a new reel for around $100 and was planning on the Shimano SLX but then saw this. Are there other reels I should be looking at instead? This will be for a bass rod, probably Fenwick Eagle or Ugly stick. Thanks!
