Eel grass! I hate eel grass. Give me rocks, logs, and brush piles all day long.

I prefer a 6 1/2 ft rod for the ways I fish. That said, I fish a spinnerbait probably 75% of the time. I use a GLX 743 and really like it.

I've found in cold water that muddies up, the sun seems to heat the sediment up faster than clear water. Shallow water heats up faster than deeper water. Warmer water more fish near the bank. I catch more when the water is stained.

For me the color doesn't really matter as long as they're white with copper blades!

I felt the same way a couple years ago. I got one of the Mustang survival vests and now I wear it from the time I get in the boat until I get out. It's very comfortable. Sometimes I forget I'm wearing it at the end of the day. I like that it activates by water pressure and not by a little dissolvable pill. They're kind of expensive, but for something that might save your life while your fishing I decided it was a small price to pay.
