Yup I actually prefer em over my fuego. I hate the small handle on the fuego and just overall don’t like the feel. The Black max is extremely easy to dial in. Can’t beat the black max for $50

Received a bunch of baby one minus cranks and rapala shadow rap Shad from brother in law. All of them don’t have split rings on the nose of the baits because he used clips, I hate clips. What size split rings do you guys on the nose of these baits?

The baby brush hog is my favorite bait I’ve caught some monsters on them

Yeah when I change the dial from 0 up to 6-7 the reel feels tighter

Speed spool LFS

Just got a speed spool from the TW 4th of July sale. When I adjust the brakes higher past 4 or 5 the reel seems to get “tighter” and feels like there’s more tension when reeling. Anyone know if this is normal or is this an issue?

Exactly what I do. Works perfect How are you even able to put enough tension on that? I feel like the line would go on the spool loose

Received mine in the mail today it came the same way as yours. I was able to spool it up fast and take a few casts everything seemed normal. One thing I will say this is my first lews and I wouldn’t pay the full price $100 for this reel it feels kinda cheap and not as smooth as other $100 reels. I’m throwing it on a topwater rod for now

What’s the difference? I’ve read the choppo handles little bits of floating grass a bit better

I generally fish 15lb mono but if I’m around a lot of grass I fish braid. I don’t have any deep water around me but if I was going to be dragging a jig out deep I’d prob fish braid

I would return it and ask for an exchange. I ordered one from TW earlier this week, waiting for it to arrive. We’ll see if mine arrives the same way.

Does anyone use these from amazon? Decent price and readily available through Amazon prime.
