  1. If you are looking for a st Croix. They have a discount on discontinued models https://stcroixrodfactorystore.com/collections/web-specials?utm_source=st.+croix+e+blast&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=labor+day+retired+rod+sale&utm_id=labor+day+retired+rod+sale&goal=0_44e215dbe7-71870f8acc-337925594&mc_cid=71870f8acc&mc_eid=ac1b9b7fd5
  2. i have a dobyns fury. its really nice https://dobynsrods.com/the-dobyns-fury-series/
  3. the light shakey rod came in. its so nice. i have to say, i love these steez daiwa rods. i have 3 now
  4. I got the jig heads and plastic for the ultralight in. It's hilarious how small they are bi can't wait to use it
  5. this is a picture of it. im so siked for it. i cant wait to try it out
  6. the packages arrived. the daiwa airity is so light weight, so smooth running. i love it. it might actually be my very best reel i own. i put on 8 pound braid, with 2 pound mono filler at the bottom to save on the braid. what is neat, i dont think i have seen it before, the reel has a little notch for where you put the knot so it will line up right. its really cool. the ultra light rod also came in, and that a nice feel to it as well. i think it will be paired really well together. I am really looking forward to getting the light rod in as well for the shakey setup to use with this reel as well. surprisingly, i ordered ultralight jigs and plastics on the same day and they still have not shipped, yet the stuff from japan is already here. i am going to have to run to the store and buy something because i dont have anything for ultralight, i assumed they would have arrived...anyway, i wont harp anymore.
  7. i just checked the tracking. who am i kidding, i check the tracking multiple times a day, every day... anyway, i just checked the tracking and it says the reel and the ultralight rod are on the truck for delivery, but still has tomorrow's date. not sure if it will come today or tomorrow, but I will keep an eye out for it. the rod mentioned in the first post hasnt yet shipped. this has to be the last order i make this year, my wife is going to have a fit
  8. any chance its braid noise? my tatula is really loud with braid, but not with FC
  9. Hmm. I got the airity for the ultralight primarily and was thought of using it elsewhere. Shoot. I guess I should have researched better or posted before hand because I already bought the airity.
  10. I ordered the daiwa airity 2500 for an ultralight setup to catch some Sunnys and such. After doing more research it looks like the airity could actually be used for some higher weight stuff as well. I thought of also using a nice shaky setup for the bass in the lakes by my house. Does it seem like a good match for Shakey setup? This is the rod I got. https://www.daiwa.com/jp/product/detail/rod/bass_rd/steez_spinning21/sub02 This is the model airity LT2500S-XH https://www.daiwa.com/ja/fishing/item/special/product/airity/index.html
  11. i would definitely get it local for only 30 difference.
  12. I got about 2 hours today with my zillion. I tried to get it setup exactly like they said in the video, no side to side and then back one click. Withe the worm and weight even on Mac brake it wasn't quite good enough. I went about 3 clicks past that and then I was able to work with the brakes to get it squared away. I only had backlashing when I made a mistake on my casts, but I really don't like the line I'm using either. I'm probably going to put on braid. It was also my first time pairing it with the steez werewolf rod. That rod is sick. So sensitive and really my nicest rod by far. I have an ultralight setup coming from Japan next week, but I'm considering getting one more steez for my tatula reel. I'm really looking forward to the ultra light setup where I can fight 1/2 pound Sunny's for 20 minutes like it's a 500 pound shark
  13. new at 182 https://www.digitaka.com/item/5/4/1/4969363042064
  14. they had the 3000 this morning. this link below is the versions that arent clearance. still cheaper than usa prices https://www.digitaka.com/items/5/4/1/MIRAVEL there is also this place. i ordered from them on tuesday and it shipped last night. it hasnt arrived yet but i read very good things https://fishing.asian-portal.shop/category/select/pid/368265 the one thing to keep in mind, they are jdm versions, so there is not a warranty outside of japan. i have never needed to warranty anything in my life, so i never worried about that.
  15. that store is good. its jdm stuff. i got a steez rod and a zillion reel from them, it took less than one week delivery
  16. the Miravel is on sale at digitaka. im not sure what they normally charge for it or how much of a savings it is https://www.digitaka.com/items/238/284/189/MIRAVEL i am not associated with them in anyway. just wanted to mention it.
  17. the deals arent that great on this. the bass rod has only 12 dollars off.
  18. I have read to throw the spool in a bucket of water and just reel it in
  19. i have the jdm zillion. its amazing, i got it from digitaka and it came faster than my cabelas order
  20. for other people that might be interested in a new st croix rod. i got an email from them starting tomorrow the rods that are being discontinued are going on a big sale for 1 week. 25 to 69% off this is the link, but it says the prices wont change until september 1 at 7am central https://stcroixrodfactorystore.com/collections/web-specials?utm_source=st.+croix+e+blast&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=labor+day+retired+rod+sale&utm_id=labor+day+retired+rod+sale also, i am not related to st croix or any other makes, and dont get endorcements or anything. i just thought i would share it in case anyone is looking.
  21. i dont want to admit this, but i will. i found a youtube video with the guy that designed the rod for daiwa. it was all in japanese, but i downloaded the microsoft translator app and played it a little at a time on my laptop, while it translated it on my phone. any pause in the discussion would stop the translator, so it took a long time. also there was music in the background, and it would randomly pick up the lyrics to that. anyway, the video wasnt any help either. it was just discussing that the lv rod is for lightweight bait, spinners, and other stuff. it can also be used for a little heavier as well. the best that i can understand it from reading the 4 different translated pages plus the video, is the rod doesnt start bending from the top, it bends from the middle, so you can whip the bait out further. there are actually 4 different types of machine gun rods, and they all have that in common. the difference is just the length and strength of the rod. i cant imagine that bend of the rod would be considered a style of fishing, so really i dont think that is it, but maybe it is, and its just a marketing gimmick. in fact the translator actually translated one line to the gimmick of the rod. i typed into chatgtp what is machine gun fishing and it said its the same as fan fishing. which is just to cast out to different spots from 9 to 3 on a clock face. however, that was never mentioned in any of the videos or the text in the pages. it also doesnt seem likes that would be a new style of fishing. i even asked my wife to read the translations and she said it was too technical, and didnt make any sense. that maybe i will just never know, and i told her i have to find out or it will haunt me forever.
  22. I have a dobyns fury rod. It was about 120 I think I also just got a st croix avid, which was I think 200. The dobyns fury is a better rod, in my opinion. The st croix has a more refined feel but not the 2x the price feel I also have the daiwa steez werewolf jdm rod. That one beats them all that I have in my stash so far, but I think the price was closer to 500 after the incredibly high paypsl fees But really, If you haven't checked out the dobyns fury. It really is worth a look
  23. I have ordered 2 reels and 1 rod from digitaka. They all arrived at my door in less than 1 week. That's faster than Cabela's for me Yesterday I ordered a rod from Japan portal fishing and it says it has processed but hasn't shipped. It's only been 24 hours. The biggest issue I have is my credit card company always declines digitaka as fraud and I need to call them to say it's not fraud. They can't seem to get it that I order from them. I love the prices at digitaka
  24. I saw a video from daiwa Japan on the zillion. They suggest tightening the spool until there is no side to side and then go back one click. They said after that adjust everything with the brakes only. I have only got about 20 minutes so far on my zillion so I don't have it set right but it wasn't backlashing at all. They said in the video once it's setup, you don't need to thumb on the cast until it hits the water. Let it go. I watched my spool go crazy on the cast but it always corrected itself by the time it hit the water.
  25. i have been trying to figure out what machinegun casting is that this rod is made for. i have been searching google and youtube, but everything is coming up with japanese language and i cant figure out how to translate. what i am trying to find out is, what is machinegun casting? how is it different from normal casting? https://www.daiwa.com/jp/product/detail/rod/bass_rd/steez_bait21/sub16
