  1. Daiwa Pixy. I use mine for walleye for the longest time. It's perfect as a spinning reel replacement.
  2. This og frame was kinda high on the reel seat compared to newer releases.
  3. Didn't see their "With our reels, you stop thinking about distance — when the lure flies and the spool settles at splashdown without you stepping in, you’re already thinking about where the next cast should land". As i expected, a backlashless reel is incapable of casting far, so if you're sacrificing distance for control, something that is there for your thumb, that's the kind of design that i could ONLY see working for people that are getting into baitcasters, or your gf/wife.
  4. As the title says. For me, it's undeniably the Steez CT frame. The new steez 2024 is extremely close, but still not CT level. How about you all?
  5. 1. Why would anyone who knows how to use baitcasters care about a so called backlashless reel when you know how to use a normal baitcaster? 2. No reel will be able to cast at max distances if it cannot backlash. It's simply not a thing that can be achieved. 3. Just listen to this reel while he is casting in the youtube video. It sounds like a Temu $30 noname reel. This is a technology, if sold to Daiwa or Shimano, i see them refining it, and come out with something that could possible, MAYBE be worth it. When installed on a Temu reel... no thanks.
  6. I don't believe your average joe buying a Tat cares about it being a workhorse, having a twing or the mag brakes. Everything is in the price, and how popular the reel is across the socials.
  7. Its a couch fisherman. There's a reason why he is insanely excited to catch even a crappie during his tests. He doesn't service his reels, and they're always perfectly clean. I take care of my gear much more than the average person would, so my reels are also "scratchless", but with all the gunk you'll catch over a season, they simply cannot be clean, and his are factory clean. If i had to guess, and i'd put money on it, he is on the water, for the sole purpose of fishing, about 15 times a year, for no more than 4h at a time. As i said, a couch fisherman.
  8. People watch his videos because he covers new releases. He trolls Daiwa or not, those who care what's coming out will watch his stuff. Too bad Tackle Advisors isn't posting, he actually is on the water more than 5 times a year.
  9. Btw OP you can fix all of this by buying the 24 Met DC😊
  10. He bashes them constantly. Uses Temu brands, and tries to make his viewers believe that it's smoother than a zillion, or a steez tw is as goofy as it gets. He is incapable of making a single video without mentioning Daiwa in bad light. That doesn't bother me, though, it makes me giggle instead because i know that the extreme popularity of the Zillion and the Tat made his Curado/SLX and the Metanium significantly less relevant than what they were prior to 2021, and that bothers him greatly.
  11. Well i imagine its because the Tats are extremely popular, especially the current 2024 model that even i am glazing (before the current model i was never suggesting anybody to get a tatula, and that since they launched in 2013).
  12. I watched this with a smile😊Hope you guys enjoy. And remember, the Tatula is OVER! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UaV5YNP3cM
  13. There's no reason to use 2 braking blocks on if its still too low. Try 3, or even 4, but lower the braking on the braking dial. I've had something similar with the Aldebaran MGL 30.
  14. Absolutely worth it, i apply something similar to u40 on all my rods with cork handles.
  15. Alright thanks will order some spool bearings to see whats up.
  16. When it happens, its over, you have to replace. I don't know if its happening with newer rubber shimano is using, but i do know that it always happened with their older one from the 2000s and the 2010s. Same thing with Oakely sunglasses.
  17. Prices seem reasonable. How about the shipping, or they charging a lot?
  18. Btw anyone knows where the NMB bearings can be purchased for a good price? I saw them on Aliexpress, but they're most likely fake?
  19. Are we talking about spool bearings? I only remove the shields of spool bearings when they're crunchy, and in many cases, if they are, they're done, and will never be smooth. I did purchase multiple used reels in the past, and for whatever reason, the shielded spool bearings were full of grease, which i wasn't able to disolve in acetone, so i've removed the shields to properly clean them. As for all internal bearings, there's no reason to ever remove their shields.
  20. I wouldn't suggest you to go from Lews to Daiwa because you will feel really really really bad having wasted years of fishing using Lews. On a serious note, it's a no brainer. As i always mention, and others have already mentioned in this thread, the Zillion and the Zillion HD from Japan will open your eyes on what you've missed on, but the new Tats are awesome for the price, and you can't go wrong with them.
  21. It's as smooth/smoother, more comfy to palm (i am assuming you're talking about the 2016 steez tw and the steez a, which uses the same frame), looks like a reel that is much more expensive (important to me, but might not be to others), casts well, and pretty much has zero disadvantages. I can't even think of a single con other than the top plate being made out of plastic, which i would've preferred it being full metal, but that's just nitpicking, and is the case on all current zillions.
  22. I don't really understand this thread. You mention that it's a you problem, but what's the issue to begin with? All three have the same'ish performance. The Steez A will be the best of the three to handle baits for over 1oz. The Zillion is by far the best of the three for the price (purchased from Japan). If you're deciding between these three, i'd put them in a garbage bin and grab the Zillion HD instead. It's superior to a Steez, and is like ~$40 more expensive than a standard Zillion. The definition of a nobrainer, and the best bang per buck for a high end reel that you can purchase atm.
  23. And that's from Digitaka. From auction sites, you can get one for significantly less. This $700 price from TW is laughable. A price to "farm" the unaware.
