Not sure where you fish or what you’re targeting but here in the northeast I run 30-40lb braid with leaders anywhere from 30-80lb for striped bass and bluefish. Depends on structure I’m fishing. Most leaders are around 3’ connected with a barrel swivel

I like the Daiwa bg. Its heavier than most other reels but its tough and itll last forever if you maintain it

I like my fury 703. It’s listed as a medium heavy but I find it to be more of a medium. For the way I fish, if I can only bring one baitcasting rod with me this is almost always the one I choose
