Can I throw a....
I'm afraid of breaking a tip. There's zero give in my buddies heavy flippin stick. But my med hvy says 3/4 oz max on it.

How was your fishing in 2025?
Back into it after many years. I had a stellar spring and summer. 17 one day in July. Ironically what used to be my favorite time of year, the fall, I was skunked 3 times and didn't catch many at all really. I'm sorry you had to move. There might be a grieving period warranted for such a move. Better luck next year Tight lines y'all

My fishing needs help
Wind will push the tiny things that the baitfish eat. whatever direction the wind is blowing that's where the food will be. Ie if you're on a square lake facing North and the wind is coming from the west you'll want to start fishing the east side of the lake. Keep in mind I'm just now really learning about this stuff though. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will come along and verify this or correct me

That's the rod I'm getting. I need help on a reel now I was going to get the Lew's super duty 300(?) I think that's the name of it. I want to throw 1/4-3/4oz cranks. What is a good reel and a good gear ratio for those criteria? And again thank you in advance. Y'all are super helpful to novice anglers

If you had a bass boat, FFS, SpotLock, and a bag of chips, do you think you'd catch more?
I'm sure I'd catch more with electronics. I'll find out next year when I put a mega SI humminbird on my yak...

Fishing the Rapala Original Floating Minnow?
What he said. When they're spawning I crank it down right above the beds if possible. They'll smack it to move it off the bed. Other times I twitch it like a top water. While other times I crank it down and jerkbait it back..... I've never trolled em but I can see it working I've heard of people using Carolina rig but I've not tried that myself Also someone mentioned split rings nick the line.... That's true. I check and retie often. But I like the action and tying a palomar knot takes me 15 seconds probably
