  2. New member here. Northeastern PA. Got into fishing about 4 years ago, pretty much kayak on lakes/rivers for bass. Looking forward to learning more.
  3. I will try to be brief. Got into fishing 4 years ago, total newbie. Had an Ugly Stik and Lightning Rod for the longest time, this year I grabbed a Shimano SLX medium light which I use 99% for soft plastics. I know it's not a super $$ rod but I do notice improved sensitivity. My question is if you are throwing frogs, crankbaits, etc., does the sensitivity matter as much? I was going to use the Berkley for that but was curious what the advantage to a "better" rod would be in other fishing situations? I guess what I am asking is if a rod upgrade is better across the board, or are certain types of fishing better suited to a better rod?
