storm swim baits
I hate those things. First, take a whiff of them.... :-? Worst smell I've ever smelt.... I've never had any luck on them either, IMO, the have an awfull action and just don't look that realistic.... my two cents....

Bowhunters--Mechanical vs Fixed broadheads.
Go get you some Raeg 2-blade heads. In 100gr. They fly like darts, the will not open prematurely and they penetrate like a fixed head. Last year I killed a doe with them, and it was a massive blood trail. Double lung complete pass thru. I've also killed several turkeys with the rage 2-blade devestating results.... 8-)

different tpes of largemouth?
you've got northern strain, and florida strain bass. northerns are aggressive, floridas grow big, so now they've crossed the two, to make an "F1 bass" that's what we have in our pond.. very strong and very big. ;D

Aftermarket Aerators
WOW. Thanks.... How do you like it... Istallation looks simple! I like that fact that you don't need a switch, and it shuts on and off when submerged.... Do you have one? or one in each part of the livewell??

Aftermarket Aerators
What kind of aftermarket aerators do you guys use? I've noticed some of the pro's have big aerators in their livewells... Just wondering about some good brands... may look into getting one.

Different Types of Bass
A good way to identify spots to the untrained eye is fell their tongue. They have a patch of teeth on their tongue. LM's and SM's do not.

UMF.. Clausen vs. Ehrler
here's what the producer had to say... In response to your emails, the producers of Ultimate Match Fishing wish to offer insight into the match between Brent Ehrler and Luke Clausen. Many of you have written with concerns about sportsmanship and how bass fishing in general is being portrayed in UMF this season. We consider your concerns to be legitimate, and to that end we have made adjustments to the UMF rules for all future matches. But before we spell out those rule changes, here are some facts about the match that unfortunately you, the viewer, did not get to see. After the incident in question, Joe Thomas, referee Mark Randolph, Luke Clausen, Brent Ehrler and the show's producers met for close to an hour to discuss the incident. Mr. Ehrler and Mr. Clausen both agreed that no animosity was present during the action. Luke Clausen stated, and as was witnessed by everyone there, that he felt that Brent Ehrler had the fish in his hands at the time he bit Brent's line, and it was an unfortunate turn of events that the fish slipped away from Brent. Luke's actions were simply geared toward having a little fun...as his on camera explanation later revealed. Brent Ehrler agreed, and though the circumstances surrounding the event were unfortunate, they were in no way intended to misrepresent what Ultimate Match Fishing is about...entertainment, fun, and action. Now, here is what you didn't get to see when the cameras were not rolling. Luke Clausen offered Brent the opportunity to take any fish from his live well to replace the bass he lost. Mr. Ehrler refused. The bottom line is that Brent Ehrler realized that Luke Clausen's actions were in no way intended to be anything more than what they were...an attempt at humor that unfortunately went wrong. However, this event, regardless of the fact that we believe it was intended with a total lack of malice, has made us reconsider the rules of Ultimate Match Fishing. From this point forward, no angler will be allowed to touch the other angler's tackle, gear, or fish in the live well. While we did not, nor do we ever foresee such an event occurring, we do believe that stating such a rule is necessary to maintain the overall feel of the event. And while some of you have called for the disqualification of Luke Clausen, we respectfully disagree based on the clear intent of his actions, and the sincere apology he offered to Mr. Ehrler, the producers, and the viewing audience. One a final note, we do wish to address the element of sportsmanship in UMF. While we all believe that sportsmanship is an integral part of tournament bass fishing, the structure of Ultimate Match Fishing is very different from other tournament based shows. Ultimate Match Fishing is intended simply to entertain our audience by putting two of the best bass anglers in the world in one boat, on one lake, with a very simple set of rules designed to enhance the experience of both the anglers and the audience. Unfortunately, many of you may view positioning the boat where the angler in back cannot cast to productive water to be unsportsmanlike. Also, many people believe that using the sit down strategy in the 4th quarter is unsportsmanlike. The nature of UMF inherently begs the question of what is sporting and what is good strategy? Some of you have attempted to vilify anglers while others applaud their actions as good, sound judgment. In the end, our goal with Ultimate Match Fishing is to simply entertain our audience and to offer a different perspective on competitive bass fishing. We feel that both Mr. Clausen and Mr. Ehrler deserve applause for their response to the incident in question, and any attempt to make it more than what it actually was is clear futility. Sincerely, The Producers of Ultimate Match Fishing

UMF.. Clausen vs. Ehrler
The way the ref and Ehrler made it sound like that fish was a 5+lber. Luke had nothing even close to 5 pounds in the box, biggest maybe 3.5. So that really didn't do anything for me on Luke's part. On another note, when Luke though about giving him a chance to fish the 4th... Luke would have never even let Ehrler bring in a bunch of fish without going and sitting in the middle of the lake. As soon as Ehrler started getting close to Luke's wieght, it would have been over.

01' 225 Optimax Oil Alarm
I have an 01' Champion 203 and an 01' 225hp. Optimax. A few days ago my oil light lit up upon cranking the boat and started beeping. I checked the oil and it was kind of low, so I just made a short run (a mile or two) and fished. I then came back loaded up the boat and went and got some DFI oil. I filled the tank in the hull, a little past the line. Next day oil alarm sounded upon start up, then shut off. I went fishing about 2 hours later in the middle of a run, oil alarm and light came on, I stopped shut motor down, and called dealer. He had me check the tank on the motor and it was a little more than 3/4 full. He said all should be OK then. I was still worried, so I loaded up the boat and came back to house. Any ideas? I don't want to ruin this motor..... Is this a false alarm or what? ** All caps are TIGHT, DFI has been run through motor since begining. Thanks, Zack

Gas & Bass
When I'm just checking around, I'll usually trailor to the closest ramp where I wanna try that day.. I fish a few lakes 50,000+ acres... so I try to trailor to where I want to go. But come tournament time, I go.

You think the whole unit is bad??? Anyone else?

Drop Shot Help
I really only fish the drop shot vertically... I really think that's the only way to do it IMO. I like to use ZOOM finesse worms, and hand poured minnows. Keep slack in the line and never move the wieght to work the bait. Only move the wieght to move the locations... keeping slack in the line and just moving the slack gives a great presentation.

Must have's in your boat??
EXTRA OIL! Nothing will ruin a day worse than that oil light coming on, and you having to run back to the ramp and go buy some oil, or if it's so low, shut the motor down and get a tow.... EXTRA OIL!

Need help with Lowrance transducer....
Alright... I just got a new x96 for the front of my boat. I got it all hooked up, it's getting power etc. But when I went to water test it, I dropped the trolling motor in the water, and waited to get a depth reading. It never came. I got a good temp reading, but the depth just kept flashing 0.0ft... and occasionally would jump around and start flashing different depths... like (19.2, 25.8, etc...) It would just keep flashing them. I never even got a good bottom reading. I installed a LCX-28c HD at the console, and it performs flawlously. I just don't get it. I had an old x85 up at the front, and it worked good and gave me a good bottom reading etc... then it got some moisture in it, and I got this new one... I know the transducer is intsalled correctly... I've got zip ties running the length of the shaft..... I just don't get it, anyone got any ideas? BTW: Sometimes it would try and pick up but all I would see was a bunch of dotted lines...

I cant fish deep! am i missing out.....
Man you've gotten some great answers. Another thing is electronics. I can't stress enough how good electronics help tremendously when fishing deep.... You need one just as good up front as you do on the back.
