I have three spinnerbait reels that I use for spinnerbait fishing only. I use Abu Garcia 4600 C3 reels on Berkley Rods, what kind of fishing line is recommended for these? I have been using Trilene 17lb test but I would like some input to what you guys are using. Thanks!

Well I just got my new Basstrix swimbaits and I'm excited to fish them because I hear they are awesome. I accidently posted in the wrong forum so I will post it again here, hopefully a mod will take care of the other thread. Anyway, my first question is what is the best way to fish this lure? My second one is, where is the best place to use this? How deep? Any particular time of season? Finally, I got the 6" swimbait and I'm curious if this is the right hook I need? These are listed on eBay, are these what I need or do I need bigger/heavier?

I went back this morning and had no luck again however we had some bad weather last week and fresh rain and this has got the water temp way down. The creeks are 47' and the river channel is 52'. I think I'm going to have to wait until it warms up a few more degrees. I did stay all day trying anything I could think of. All my Sonars showed all the fish were 3'-8' however nothing was biting not even crappie.

Yeah, I fished the deep banks and the shallow lakes/creeks off the river channel without success. I probably should have but did not fish the creek mouths with the c-rig. I had a gut feeling to but never did because all my success has come from the deep river banks and up in the creeks/lakes off the main river channel.

Just curious where the fish are? The water temp is around 50' in most locations, every now and then you can hit a spot of 54' and in the shallow water it's about 58'. The main river channel is around 52' so my question is where are the fish? I went this past weekend and didn't get a bite all day and was fishing about 10-15ft on the deep river banks. We fished the creeks, the creek mouths and even some deep rock walls, nothing no bites. What did we do wrong? Wrong lure? Wrong color? :-/ I wanted to add, I fished a private pond yesterday and caught three 4lb bass about 10 ft. on a dropoff, is this where they are hiding in the rivers right now?

Thanks for the replies, I haven't heard of this for Bass but have for catfish and crappie so I was curious.

Has anyone ever heard of using live small crappie minnows on a c-rig? I over heard a man talking today and he says this works well? Has anyone ever tried this? If so, results? I'm looking for a few new techniques.

Well, I have the reel, used it once and I loved the way it casted but overall it's too small for me and my hands so I'm going to sell it. I'm going to stick with my Ambassadeurs. The 4600 Ambassadeur is perfect for me in casting and size.

I told him I would give him $75, he said he paid $175 when he got it new! That's insane for a reel, is it that good? I gave him $125 for it? Did I get screwed? It's in perfect shape just don't have the paper work/box.

He said he doesn't know what Paypal is, lol. I've only used Abu Garcia reels so I don't know much about Pflueger's or what they're worth. What is a reasonable offer?

I need the expert advice again guys! A buddy of mine has a Pflueger Supreme LP Baitcast Reel in great shape that he said he was going to sell. It looks great and feels good he just threw away the box and papers and stuff. It looks like this one in the picture. Anyway, what should I offer him for this reel?

$146.95? that's pretty high for a reel, I still love the TD2HI reel. For a TD2HI Tourny Series Reel in excellent shape, what would you pay for it today?

How much is a Team Daiwa Tournament TD2Hi 6:3 To 1 reel in good condition be worth? Also, is this a good reel?

I have the Carolina rig rigged up on one of my rods, now how do you fish this rig? Like I said, about 15-30 ft is normall where I like to fish on this river, do you just throw it out and drag the weight across the bottom and 10-20 seconds or let it sit there? How do you know when you get a hit?

The river where I fish mostly is very deep, currently it's about 10 feet low due to a drought here but it's still averages 35-40ft in the main channel. The banks we fish range from 15-30ft deep. Currently, I pitch jigs and paca craws with great success. I fish spinnerbaits and crankbaits if I don't get any hits pitching but I would like more suggestions. What would you guys recommend for this depth of water? Also, the water is pretty dark. (Largemouth & Spotted Bass)

Does anyone know where I can find or have any Riverside Spinnerbaits in 3/8oz in any color? I found a few of these a while back and these work well in south Alabama. If anyone has any or knows where I can find some I will pay up to $10 a piece for them. Thanks!

What is the best way to fish a Rattletrap? The way I've been doing it is throwing it near rocks, rock walls, mouth of creeks and in deeper waters on the river banks. I've been fishing the Strike King Diamond Shad 1/2oz. in many different colors with no hits to this day. What am I doing wrong with these things?
