Thinks Rolo thats what I'm wondering, how much attention goes into mimicking a feeding or pray fallen in water. I've often wonder why at times with clarity(and the good sun glasses) that I'll see fish swim off from lures when they hit, "was it to strong a splash or did they see me before hand and was ready to run on the first sign of trouble. I think so much goes into working the bait than, imitating a bass feeding- I'd like to know more on how certain kind of lures should enter the water and when you should be taken advantage of mimicking a feeding hot spot. Intresting point

What kind of landing should a lure make, does it depend on the kind? Hmm :-? starten to feel familiar, :-/ Accuracy no problem, understand that one. as for picture one if not for a tree in the way you end up with big splash correct : picture two, skippy do dah maybe :-? thats all, just watch where you land it? :-? I've read some stuff on presentation but, I've not read or talked about my questions

Well, I came from a back ground of Night cat fishing(drinking is all we really did) Not much education from this. Over the years I realized how crappy,unhappy and lost I was >, 2001 I commited to the Lord and haven't looked back This goes along with him changing me-when I had a surgey for the wife (I'm sure you may figure out that one) I had time to read alot, I read on Hunting deer and turkey, and fishen with artificial baits and couldn't wait to try it, literally It put me down a few more days :'( when I was good and well off I went, love it ;D So really I don't fish with the same guys and yes I've tried to get them intrested but no success :'( I was thinking of posting some flyers maybe :-? You know I really don't think theres any Jon Boat clubs around here-this could be a new thing. Maybe post at a coulpe of places as well. If I decide to do this I'll need to be ready and answere questions. that I don't know right now Maybe a bad approach on the flyers :-?

Oh NO! I check mine to see if they've moved, does anyone talk to them , I mean maybe some sounds come from me when I check them but,really you don't talk to them do ya If you say yes, then bringing in my rods is a problem too :-? Is there help for this disorder?

I'm down in southern IN, been all my life. We have alot of electric lake- pit areas around here, one gas lake close by, as for others close-lets see Patoka lake 2hrs away, and Kentucky and Barkley lakes 2hrs also. With all of the electric ones by I was thinking what it would take to start a all jon boat elec. Bass club, Have not heard of one around here, and maybe that would be a nicth. With gas up the traveling I would think could be a plus. So what does it take when you are the only one that wants to start(so far) :-?

Thanks again Catt well I think I'll get started stripping the paint(been told don't worry about it) but, I do want to try and get a smooth finish best as possible. I'll post pictures as I go, besides thats fun too. You know before I found this particular site I was wondering about some of the changes, Ideas I had, going all electric?? :-? This mercury (nice motar) I've got, did not go as well as I thought or I should say, as cool as I thought. The yanking for starting, the gas fumes too :) didn't realize how strong they could get. Funny thing is when I sat in my little jon with a trolling motor I'd *** those passing by me with a gas motor reaching other places I feared to reach, now I realize how far with the correct equipment you can go, and the headaches aren't so bad 8-) Man I'm tellin ya Lots of Ideas here ;D Thanks again.

I was waiting on a deal I could afford? My first boat was a 12' jon got it for $60 bucks! from an old man from work(came up in a conversation with him) sold it 4 years later for cleaning up some dept.(dave ramsey inspired and with it being gone gave me a reason for a bigger one) A year later waiting on a deal again(lotta prayer-was getting worried) about 4 weeks ago got another one. you probly seen it here on the post subject "question" (trying a project) ;D Here's the hard honest part---I begged the wife for this one, we've been hitting the dept real, real hard pass 14 months(this by the way is not a popular subject to bring up to others) so the money was there but, dedicated for something else after about 16 no' no's on the phone with her-and some promises from me :-/ which I dare not break ;D she let me. now a side note: I agree with iowaguy on his statement that its a "life changing experience" thats hitting the nail man! My son often asks why other familys don't do this? we the family love the outdoors, camp hunt and fish but, fishen has been the top one the last 5 years since a boat came along, fun stuff Thinks to God we can enjoy a full life with this! ;D

hey Okie 8-) I once owned a ford 2003 f150 sport with the 4.6 and I pulled a mini-back-hoe and trailer rental 30 miles home (of course I don't remember the wieght) I believe the 4.6 is rated at 200 horse power(i'm a ford man) 8-) which gives you plenty of pep to pull(low end torch is decient) If it is a standard thats a plus+ I'd get a trailer hitch big time, I did bend my bumper :'( just my two cents :

Thanks Guys, Catt I'll check the hole count on the sides well this is awsome then I've got two cracks to weld up as well, I like the idea of the durafix- wanna have a smooth weld as best I can, Me and the Son are wanting to repaint it ;D I'm wanting to approach it with the Interlux paint just like L.B.H. did, and Iam aware of the dry time on it. question: Is etching primer able to be brushed on? :-?

Thanks Catt, I believe I do not wanna put in more ribs, that may be above my talent. I was really looking into leg room as your sitting(gotta bad back). poppen the feet up on the sides and trying to rest comfortly for two hours against the seats and casting is rough on this big boy. I still got some Ideas tho. More on the boat, me and the son had a 12' jon last year and sold in hopes that I would get a bigger one. Lord found one for us about 4 weeks ago, 14' jon, trailer and a mercury 6hp that purrs for $600 bucks! The fella I got it from had a canopy and a big ol' high back office chair on it, It did look comfy but, I let him keep the chair needles to say we were excited when I bruoght her home I let the kids paint and camo right away not bad Like I said its a 1436 as you see you can see how deep it is using the battery as a guide Back on the old drawing board tho, I still like the red Low Budget Hookers boat. I'll keep thinken.

How ya do fellas. Me & my son have a 1436 flat jon and I'm putting plans together for a project(inspired by low budget hookers boat) and I'd like to remove the two bench seats. Question is: does anyone have personal experience with this? know it, seen it, touched it? Is there Structural problems? I've for two days looked back to see if there was any old post on this topic but, I did not find any. I've seen the "my jon boat" site but I'd like to hear from someone with actaul experience on this. any help would be a blessing. thanks
