  1. ok thanks. what exactly is that? is it similar to an epoxy? oh, and by the way, do you have a drying wheel to get even clear coats?
  2. you may want to try this: take little 1 square inch pieces of paper and roll them up and stick them in the eyes before you powder coat them. that way no paint will get in the eyes to begin with. when the powder coat has cured you just pull out the paper and you have a clean eye.
  3. wow thats great! what a bargain too ;D keep it up man, maybe you could make a few of them and sell them for a good chunk of money... as for me well, i paid $0 for my tying bench because i got it from my aunt when she was cleaning out her basement. its a huge computer desk and i put a few plastic organizers on it. its pretty cool. i like it. better than when i used to be tying on my 1 square foot nightstand :
  4. thank you paul! i was thinkin of cookin up a big batch of these. going out to the store and pickin up a bunch of hardbaits and then putting custom finishes on them and selling them to make a little profit. what do you guys think? good idea?
  5. Jay, what do you use for a clear coat? i plan on re-painting a bunch of baits soon and i need a good clear coat. i have used devcon 2-ton epoxy before but i was wondering if there was something else that would make a good clear coat.
  6. are those leather/pork skin? they look pretty plain.
  7. last week i got 600yds of yo zuri hybrid for $3.50. line was all that was on sale though.
  8. ronnie, that is one interesting lure. i may just have to try something similar to that, except with a 10" culprit as a trailer cuz i have no idea what a black widow eel is. :-?
  9. Sam, BPS is quite a drive away and i can only make it up there one or two times a year. and i went recently last month. so thats not much of an option. and i dont want any BPS branded stuff. i looked on their website and it seemed all of their combos were on a BPS rod. seems like the symetre is a winner for the price. how about the premier? anyone have a good review with those?
  10. lol sam why you always pickin on me hah just kiddin.
  11. jigs do pretty well for big fish, just ask hawg caller! but its not all about the bait, locating the fish is probably harder than catching it. but thats not what you asked, so i dont want to go into that. jigs, and large plastics (10" worms, etc) catch some monsters.
  12. hey guys, im upgrading to a nice spinning rig. i wanted to buy a st. croix premier and a shimano symetre. is this a good combo? are the rod and reel both well built and good quality (for the price range) are there any better rods or reels that you could suggest in this price range? thanks guys
  13. i think sexy shad is ok. im not too fanatical over it. i like bombers tennessee shad more. i've seen red eye shads in sexy shad at my loca dicks a lot...not scarce around here.

  19. if you're planning on messing up (which is a safe plan) then maybe you want to practice on a piece of wood first? go to the hardware store and pick up a a few 3/4" dowel rods or something and just paint lots of stuff on them. it will give you the practice you need for when you want to step up and try baits.
  20. ........as drool saturates the front of my shirt
  21. they dont even have to be beat up. try re-painting a crankbait that is in a color you dont like. thats what i did with fourbizz...i gave him a bunch of never before used firetiger baits and hes gonna paint em in tenn shad for me.
