no hurt in trying...one thing to remember is to give new baits an honest shot. By that I mean don't try them when nothing else is working but rather when fish are active and current baits are working.

Thanks! Welcome to the boards and state. We have a great showing on this forum. To the left is down lake and the right is up river. Both can be great and both can be humbling. I suggest getting a map at fountainhead or online. That's a great place to start.

Heading to Hatteras tomorrow for my bachelor party (long weekend). Plan on doing a lot of surf fishing and hopefully taking my buddies boat out if the tropical storm holds off. Any tips or suggestions on surf fishing? I've read that spot and flounder are running now. Also heard bottom rigs w/ shrimp are the ticked. Anything else? Any sharks in the surf at night? What is your favorite jig trailer when you are looking for action? I really like the rage chunk but they price point is quite high. Any good alternatives? Keep in mind I'm looking for action. Thanks.
