Went out for some smallmouth today and we got what we wanted! The first fish I hooked up with was without a doubt my biggest smallie... I thought I was on the bottom until I felt her head shake, then

Shane and I got out today, fished a new sport for the first time and put together an alright day. Lots of pickerel, some pretty small bass but I did manage my biggest fish of the year SO FAR at 6lbs o

Whoa! If you're going after pike in the Ct, then you gotta trek waaay up North. Although, there are people that can help you more. I've never been there on a dedicated Northern Pike trip. I did catch a monster one in the Merrimack, though. Yes, the Merrimack. Couple inches shy of the state record.

Hahaha! Awesome! So, hey, anybody crappie fishing lately?

Sorry Deak , there is just so much Knowledge here from the guys in this SNH thread.  I was told if i fish the Merrimack up in Concord / Loudon area long enough  especially around the exit 17 bridge area where the rivers come together that i would eventually catch some. There are some nice hard hitting smallies there too. I usually get Wed afternoons to fish that area.  This week it just happened to be Tuesday. The bigger than 17 inch or so bass have been avoiding me this week.

I keep catching my self reading on this site all the time I figured its time to post something as I am on the water a good amount of time. I am heading up to Ossippee in am for the long weekend. It will be time to put the boat up after that and really hit the woods more lol well maybe just one more trip for bass. I wish tight lines to all who venture out this weekend.

Hey, Pipes, nice to have ya. Good luck at Ossipee. Beautiful lake. I never fished it, but I'd like to sometime.

Any good trout fishing up there? Haha. Just kidding. I don't care.

What about perch?

Great looking fishing days a head. Today with my dad and Sunday with my son. Looks like crankbait time with some wacky worm thrown in. Have fun all.

Cape Cod Canal today, Spoonwood for smallies and maybe Hunt's for some largemouth tomorrow...

Here are most of the fish I caught this past Thursday and Friday while up in Northwood NH. Also odd that I caught some Black Crappies as well never have I seen those in there before.

I spent the morning on the water and had a great morning catching over 15 fish, a few smallies and rest were large mouth. Most came on a crank bait and a few on a senko. Cold and windy unless in a protected cove. Cold won today after 4hrs.

Drove by Northwood and looks like a place I will try next weekend.

Not much luck for fishing today. It was colder then what was said by the weather guy only did a couple hours with my dad befor the mist came. 6 fish total all largemouth including one that had a hook in its mouth which I took out. Wacky rigged Senko and a jitterbug were the lake fav today, nothing came off the shoreline, Hopefully Sunday will be a improvement.

If you do give it a shot PM me and I'll give you some of my best spots to try.

Took my son out for some fishing, He finally caught one.Weightless rage craw and wacky senko were the choice of the day. I was catching wherever the was grass shooting up out of the water most of the time in only 3 ft water. 15 total.

My sons first bass now he finally want's to fish.

Thats great. Taking my girlfriend out tomorrow to see if she can land her first. Lets hope she can out last the cold? Should be interesting.

I struggled to get bites yesterday. Despite a forecast of sunny weather, it was cold, gray and raw all afternoon. The smallies did not want anything I threw. Only little ones bit my drop shot. Nothing at all on crankbaits, spinnerbaits, rage craws, jigs, senkos. I fished from tight to shore, all the way out to more than 20 feet. At one point, a big smallie followed my craw pattern DT16 right to the boat, then sat there looking up at me. I thought this might mean "right bait but wrong color". So I tried a bunch of different colors and diving depths, but no luck. Every fall, this happens. It's supposed to be great fishing but it never is for me. I do better in August than I do in October.

Dragged the canoe across the road to fish Silver Lake in Hollis,  a lot of fish yesterday , but the biggest was 16 inch.

Went out with the girlfriend today and had a good day. She caught 5 with these being the best 2.
