Anyone Have Any Luck In Southern Nh Yet? (4/6/12)

Featured Replies

Biggest of the year so far. Measurements put her at 8.08 lbs (my scale said 7lbs2oz, but I was using my secondary bag and backup scale, so not sure it was completely accurate. She was 21.5" long and 21" girth!!) . Caught on a Rage Shad this morning. Biggest 5 went 26lbs. They were killing the topwater. Nice rainy Father's Day! Hope all the dads out there had a good one!

Went out for some smallmouth today and we got what we wanted! The first fish I hooked up with was without a doubt my biggest smallie... I thought I was on the bottom until I felt her head shake, then

Shane and I got out today, fished a new sport for the first time and put together an alright day. Lots of pickerel, some pretty small bass but I did manage my biggest fish of the year SO FAR at 6lbs o

  • What's up, everyone?! Figured I'd bounce on here, say hi. I got so tied up in chasing fish this year, I forgot to do anything else. I hope you all are happy and healthy in this new year, and have big

Shane how are you rigging your rage shad? I've only seen success with a swimjig.

Went out yesterday, got 4 fish. 2 bass and 2 pickerel, nothing big at all, I'd say 1.5. But, I tried a new bait that worked for me, the swim jig attached here. Dragged it through milfoil patches and that's where that bass was just hiding out in there. Caught an even smaller one dropping a wacky rigged red shad Yamamoto 5" senko down next to the milfoil.

What is everyone else having luck with?

Went out today for a bit on Pleasant Pond in Frances town. Been hearing guys taking 6-7lbers out of there recently and a buddy of mine showed me a pic of his 7lber he caught outta there a few weeks ago. Didn't last very long on there the wind was brutal and it was getting unsafe for me in the canoe also I forgot my anchor.... which was a bummer. Anyways caught a couple small bass in the shallows nothing picture worthy. Gonna try tomorrow after work see if I can get on a hog.

Went out today with a buddy got on a ton if fish roughly about 16 fish total. Most of them were 1.5lbs where the biggest being roughly around 3lbs. All fish were caught on jigs with rage craw trailers and wacky rigged senkos. Gonna go see if I can get one over 5 tomorrow after work.

Got out on the water for awhile. The bite was a lot tougher than I thought it was going to be, but managed to get a few on a jig with a zoom super chunk as a trailer.  The biggest one of the day was 3.4 lb.

(6/25/15)

Good luck to the people fishing the Maine Bass Trail tournament today. My guess brutal conditions but fish will be caught.

I can't imagine fishing the way the wind was blowing earlier! Did you get your truck fixed? Have not seen any fishing posts from you since the one about fixing your truck. I'm going to try to get to Goose pond this week, 2 hour ride to get there but I've heard good things.

Truck still has a problem with it I can drive it but can't tow with it hoping just a O2 sensor hoping withing the week it will get fixed. Was told just under 20lbs took Keezar lake today. I guess the wind was not to much of a factor like we had down here. but that was from a short text from my buddy fishing it.

Sorry to hear you can't tow your boat, hopefully the 02 sensor will fix it.  If you need to get a fishing fix let me know.

Went out tonight started getting on them really fast in deeper water caught about 7 fish in 2 hours. All on the magic jig with rage craw trailer..... Shane is a genius on that lure. Even got my pops to try it and he got on some good fish as we'll. here's the pics my fish was obviously the biggest of the trip lol.

Haha, Mike, yeah, I just can't get me enough of a jig/Rage Craw!

Haha, Mike, yeah, I just can't get me enough of a jig/Rage Craw!

I'm telling yea gonna have to start going to Rage Craws Anonymous. Baits are addictive.

Hey guys I'm going to Mascoma lake this weekend. Does anyone have any advice? Is there more smallmouth or largemouth? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What's a rage craw ?

Fished Horn Pond yesterday, caught a dozen fish but only 3 made the scale, 1.4, 2.3 and 2.9 pounds. The largest 2 came on 1/2 once football jig sour pumpkin with a triple ripple craw trailer and the others on assorted soft plastics.

anyone have some recent water temps up that way?  I'm down in Mass but will be fishing central Maine all weekend.  Wondering how warm the water's gotten up there... I realize this is a southern NH thread but figure southern NH shouldn't be too much warmer than central Maine? Maybe I'm wrong though ;)

I have not been able to get a lot of fishing in this season , but these have been my go to rubber stuff and these are my go to colors.   i really really like the white.  its worked well for me.

It's a craw fish that's jacked up on steroids

The rage bug that Shane turned me onto has been great.

I was being sarcastic. LOL

My wife and I fished Great East yesterday. The weather report was for 5-10 mph winds, but it was more like 10-20 mph all morning, so fishing in a 14ft tin boat was a challenge.

We spent most of our time in the larger basin. Fished the weeds close to shore and the main channel. Caught pickerel but no bass. I lost one (pickerel I think) that I would have loved to have seen. Big top water blow up, rod bent over, line going out, then he broke me off.

I made one cast just as a big wind gust came up. That's why if you happen to look at a particular tree, about 12ft up, you'll  see a new hollow bodied frog wedged in a branch.

plowed through white caps all the way back to the launch.

So at the end of the day.

We were wind burned.

Didn't catch any bass. ( we have yet to unlock the secrets of LM on Great East and have a multi bass day)

Lost a 7$$ brand new lure.

Wrenched my back jumping up and down in the boat, swinging a paddle to try and reach said lure.

Did not get to tweak my new sonar so that it shows fish as arches, rather than lines or blobs that I think are fish.

Used up a vacation day to do all of the above.

On the way home my wife and I were talking, and came to the conclusion.

Even with all of the above.

we had a lot of fun, can't wait to go again.
