The baby bass with the orange bottom works great here. Try the spooks early in the mornings or in the evenings as the light starts to go away. I like to give the spooks the three rip and then a pause. Thats just three little rips then pause and repeat. It has to be done exactly right timing wise too. They will time it so they hit on the pause. Trust me i'm still learning after bass fishing for a while now.

  • x2 minus the carp... I know they work, as I've seen and heard of the success stories, but I have yet to catch a single fish on a jig. I will keep throwin them tho, as I am sure it is my technique that

This is creepy. Looks like Nic Cage

Jigs, buzz baits, I've only caught 1 on spinnerbaits, t-rig worms, frogs, and since I've picked up fishing again about this time last year only 1 on cranks lmao. I know there is a lot but no luck with them.

What baits are left? ;)

I can't catch a cold with a Beaver. Tried for two years, gave them all away, and haven't bought any since.

Gunfish. I'm a top water nut. I love throwing sammies, spooks, x-walk 13's ( :sleepy2: ), buzzbaits, lunkerpunkers, etc. But haven't caught much on the GF. I've honestly only thrown them 4-5 times. There's just always another bait I'm more confident in.

I love throwing t-rig sweet beavers. Probley my most productive setup. Other than that, I'm working on everything else :) btw. I've started catching them off shakey head trick worms :)

I've never caught a fish on a rattling, lipless crank, like a Redeye shad. I know they work and I keep buying them every spring, but have no confidence in them and haven't thrown one in 3 years.

Jigs. Zero luck. Chatterbaits, too.

Beetle spins. I have only caught one bass on them. Stopped using them years ago.

8" Hudds. Been tossing them for 2 seasons now. Not all the time, but I give them a decent work out. And I'm putting them where big bass reside. I've caught them. Just never seem to get a tap on these very popular swimbaits.

Senko's for me. Dont know what it is with me and Senkos but I just cant catch a fish on them. :stupid:

Sexy Shad colored lures.

I'm staring at 4 of them right now that have never attached themselves to fish.

Jigs. Zero luck. Chatterbaits, too.

I have caught all of 1 fish on each of these. One of my goals this year is to become more proficient in jig fishing. Perhaps I will add chatterbaiting as another goal.

Last season, my goals were to become confident in using soft plastics and lipless crankbaits, and ended up being very successful with both of these lures/presentations. By setting up a bunch of rules for my outtings last year, and sticking to them, I was able to force myself to learn these new (to me) techniques.

I say that every year about jigs and every year they just sat in the bottom of my tackle. I finally tossed the last of them yesterday. But fear not, there's more in the boat! I've used the chatterbait some, but just haven't caught anything on it.

Suspending jerkbaits in cold water are my nemisis. Insert brand name............ I never seem to: #1 be there when there is a jerkbait bite, I catch fish in those places on other things. #2 have any confidence in them, #3 have the paitence to let them set and do what your "supposed" to do with them when the water is in the 40's, and/or #4 have any confidence in them.... LOL confidence is key so I listed it twice. I catch fish here and there on them, but just not consistantly, or as well as others with them. Now get that water in the 50's with a little wind and agressive jerks, and I do just fine on them.

Tube baits. Every week I go fishing I tell myself 'this is the week' but it's never the week.

Spinnerbaits and Senkos, never caught a single fish. Funny.

x2

I can catch 'em on just about any other plastic, but Senkos (and Ikas) are fish repellents for me. I gave them another shot this morning for about 2 hours since I have a ton of them, but no luck at all.
