So... got what i think is a good deal. Never owned a fishing boat, but have been dying to get my hands on one for quite some time.

I've come across a family friend who has a Skeeter Wrangler they are trying to sell. i beleive its a late 80s early 90s... going to check it out next week. newer Mercury 115 HP motor. Has trolling motor. depth finder etc etc.

it is garage kept, trailer is like new.

Garaged is a plus. Check out the transom and make sure the motor is in good shape, good compression and cared for and it sounds ok to me.

I'm also going to have a boat mechanic at the local marina take a look at it to see if there are any red flags i should be wary of. Hopefully in the same trip i can get it out for a test drive.

decided that i'm gonna take the cash i was planning to spend on that one, and use it as a down payment on a new boat. finance the rest. last thing i wanted was another money pit.... my other is a convertible v8 mustang sitting in my garage. i want to have a worry free toy

Boat called a "worry free toy"....never heard that one before.

The one good thing about new is its under warranty. Just keep in mind the expenses of running a boat when determining how much you want to spend.
