What are opinions concerning the visibility of orange lines?

The angler's visibility or the fish's visibility?

As far as the angler's ability to see it, I use the orange because I like the contrast so I can see the line.

I am unsure about fish being able to see it because I use a fluorocarbon leader.

I apologize for the vagueness. I'm looking for the most visible line that I can watch and don't have a concern about visibility to the fish. I use fluorocarbon leaders.

Then I have found the orange contrasts nicely against green or stained waters. The line can be hard to see if you have brighter colours behind the line, such as bright reflections, or against the sky for example.

The biggest challenge I have in watching line is seeing it against the glare of wave action, which is nearly a constant condition here in the Midwest. Flame green Fireline is just "so-so"... the repeating pattern of Tracer braid is better (but I don't like the limpness of the line).

Just get orange or yellow, and color 1/2 the spool with a black sharpie.

i got a spool of the neon orange sufix in 80lbs test...i was expecting it to jump out at me in terms of visibility but it really didn't. not only that but the colors wears off the braid really, really fast. white braid is actually the most visible to me and the color never wears off ;-)

I don't care if I see the line or not. I use old fashioned green braid, even at night. I put hi vis yellow on one reel just because I liked the way it looked.

I do... thus the reason for my thread.

the color of the line never mattered that much to me, more the quality of the line or well quality really isnt the word more like personal preferences in a line. always used a leader either tied on with a swivel or a surgeon's knot or etc if the color shows to be a problem.. it looking good in the spool is always just a bonus.

Ive had a few people say to me that oh your adding another knot on there and that's not good, well they are right ill agree but since i stopped using that triple shoe lace knot from when i was a kid, Ive never had a knot come out or break a line at the knot, so i haven't worried about it since i was 6.
