Smith Mountain Lake Tomorrow And This Weekend

Featured Replies

I plan on fishing tomorrow afternoon into tomorrow night and all day friday into friday night. I was wondering what everybody on here was catching them on. I normally use a tube all day and can put fish in the boat but i wanna try something new and see if i can develop new patterns for the lake. at night i use storm thundersticks this time of year on the points. I have heard that swim baits work on points during the day and I plan on trying them and the A-rig on the points i will repost if it works.

Any suggestions?

thanks in advance

I know that a lot of guys are throwing Thundersticks and Red-fins right up on rip-rap now at night. Hope this helps, and I'll look forward to your report!

thundersticks seem to be a popular night bait at SML. apparently good for bass and stripers. you may be able to get into some nice healthy stripers full of eggs this time of year on SML as theyre up shallow at night feeding on spawning alewives around docks. i got an invite to head down there this weekend, been trying to make it back there in april for 2-3 years now, just hasnt worked out, unfortunately i wont be able to go this weekend either...

give the ol A-rig a shot....let us know how you do!

I went this afternoon and into tonight but did not wait around for the night bite. But I caught 10 fish today all around 1 lb. to a pound and a half and one 3 and a half. All of them came off a tube. It was hard for me to change and throw something else and i couldn't do it but hopefully friday i will try a swim bait or the A-rig.
