Hey all! I've been reading some reviews about Yo Zuri Hybrid. They say that it will brake at a higher lb test than what the line is actually rated for (ex: 8lb test will actually brake around 12lb)

Does anyone use this for cranking? I was thinking of getting some 8lb for my cranking rod. My concern is strength, stretch and abrasion resistence.

Also, does anyone flip with it? I hear the heavier lines are a little stiff. I was thinking 15lb or 20lb.

What about Drop Shotting? I think the 6lb would be perfect for it, if it breaks closer to 9lbs.

I use 12lb yozuri for cranking, it breaks around 19lbs. Would push it to 15 for flipping.

For spinning reels I use 6lb ultra soft for anything I do lightweight.

10 for deeper running cranks.

12 for traps and shallow runners.

12 for worms and football jigs.

15 for c-rigs, jigs, and pitching.

I've used 20 for flipping into nasty stuff without a problem, though I prefer braid in this situation.

Personally I like 8 for drop shotting, but that's only because I have a lot of very sharp limestone here. I believe RW recommends 6 for all his spinning gear.

All regular hybrid, not the ultra soft.

Everything else I own has braid on it. I'll make the choice to use braid or hybrid based off of the area I'm fishing.

I use the 12# for my 50E for plastics. I also have 20# on my SX for diving deep with plastics. Would rather use braid for jig/flip/pitching.
