My Jig Fishing This Past Weekend.

Featured Replies

So I am among the many on this board vowing to become a better jig fisherman. So this weekend, i went out to the pond with only jigs. I ended up catching 6 total in about 1 hour of fishing. I wasnt pitching/flipping, I was casting/dragging. What was interesting, the smaller fish I caught, all hit it like a freight train. The biggest fish, about 4lbs, never felt a thing, just saw the line jump, set the hook, and it was on. I have an incredicbly sensitive jig rod that makes casting jigs and detecting bites much easier, all in all, a good weekend.

Great job!! I am horrible with jigs so I need to do this one day too!!

A sensitive rod is a must for fishing a jig, experienced or not. Stick with it and I'm sure you'll grow to love them!
