No Luck This Weekend

Featured Replies

Went Saturday morning out to the state lakes and had no luck. Fished most of the day and only caught 2 small ones. Went out to Lay Lake Sunday with the same outcome. Talked to a few of the local anglers and they are doing the same. Nothing really biting in Alabama right now. Same luck with night catfishing. Caught a few catfish but all have been minner catfish (LOL). Hopefully things will pick up. How has everyone else been doing?

Fishing shallow early and late has beenand deep in the hottest condirions has been most productive for me in recent weeks. We're in full blown Summer patterns here in Tx now...

Same here...Been extramely hot. Saturday morning had cooled off to 55 degrees so I figured if I got started early I would do well but that was not the fact. Couldnt hardly find any bait fish swimming other than a few minnows on the boat ramp.

Same here in Arkansas, fished all over Greers Ferry all weekend. Nothing... not so much as a nibble.

The cold front shut down the shallow bite or we just couldn't find it.

We spent a few hours early fishing grass and shallow structure, but

failed to find any takers. So, out we went.

We marked two holes, 23' and 27' surrounded by a 14' bottom. The

deeper hole was pretty small, the other about 20' X 30'. I caught the

first fish "trolling" a GMAN Jig/ Lobster while we were still getting set

up.

All of our bass were caught dropping off the ledge. We caught nothing

in the crevice nor coming up. Additionally, all of our fish were caught on

the upstream ledge. Another specific note, at least on this day, the baits

were dragged not hopped and all bites occurred while the baits were

moving.

32 bass, mostly +/- 3 lbs, but no big fish. All of our fish were caught on

jigs with a Lobsetr trailer and soft plastics (Rage Thumper, Anaconda,

tubes and curly tail).

This weekend was dead here in Illinois also. Only thing I can think is what has already been mention. The fish are in their summer patterns.
