Went fishing today with my buddy Eric and his little boy. I got skunked! We both did actually, the only thing brought in today were a few small Bluegill. I set up my dedicated el-cheapo Walmart special carp rig with homemade ball bait with a boillie in the center on a hair rig. For those of you who don't know carp you just throw that sucker out and set it down and wait. I add bells so that I can walk the bank with my Ugly Stik hunting Bass. I tried what seems like everything and nothing was working. I used a wacky rigged Senko (wacky rigged with black rubberbands I use for my goatee), Texas rigged Senko's, Zoom trick worms, finesse worms, grubs, I tried a tiny floating long lure and a spinning bait that got no hits. The fishing was horrible today but the weather was perfect for a waterside cookout.

There are many days that will cause us to scratch our heads when it comes to fishing... But when a grill fires up, we tend to forget a few of the challenges we might have had on the water ;)

That and a few ice cold long neck buds usually helps too lol.

Another goose egg today. Worked some new baits and techniques though. I attribute the bad fishing to a late start of 1330, and only stayed for about 1.5 hours. I was still outside and it was a beautiful day. Saw lots of people on the water and made me wish I had a boat.

Yesterday wasn't a total loss, caught some snook, the conditions were good and they didn't disappoint. Went out in the PM for some bass fishing, first cast I catch a dink on a topwater, I knew that was the kiss of death, and it was. I even tried a few different types of lures, it was just an off day.

On days like that I tend to take a lot of pictures, and play with the fish finder.

Stopped by the local pond today after dinner so I could cast my line a few times and my wife could feed the ducks. Glad I did too! Caught the second biggest bass I've ever caught and my first on a hard bait! It was 90 degrees and about 2000hrs. I just casted out my new Rebel Frog R in leopard paint scheme thrown from my M action Ugly, and as soon as it landed it was gobbled up by this fish. The fight lasted no more than a minute or two as he ran straight for the shore. I estimate it to be a little over 3lbs. The sandal is 11.5 inches... I need to invest in a scale and tape measure!

Not sure why the clarity seems so jaggy, must be because of the cell phone.

That's a nice ass fish in the pic with the sandel. I have one of those frogs you are talking about but I have never used it before. I am gonna give it a try

Went today from about 0600-1530. Only caught one decent size bass, all the rest were small panfish.... The bass I caught must have been caught before because his mouth was all ripped off on one side. Caught him on a very small chartruese tube looking thingy on a 1oz drop shot. That's the bait on my shoulder...

Thanks man. Yeah I was in Walmart last night and they had one KVD sexy frog left for around 8 dollars, I was gonna buy it but then thought why? The rebel frog I have works just fine. Put the sexy back on the shelf and bought a couple bags of plastics instead...

Yeah man **** is too expensive to go out and but stuff you dont need and when you got something that works why change it up you know. And for $8 you get one frog when you can get like 2 bags of plastics for that same price.

Went fishing yesterday with a buddy of mine who hadn't pointed a stick since he was a young boy. Didn't catch any bass today, but i did get my first cat of the year. Caught him on a chunk of drop shotted nightcrawler. Caught a few smaller bluegill, my buddies biggest catch was this shmedium bluegill, well that and a little baby snapper turtle he pulled in and the frogs that were jumping all around on shore. Even though the fishing was sub-par it was nice to see my friend getting back in touch with nature lol

Back from vacation so I guess its time to update my log. Didn't catch anything but tiny croaker in the bay on vacation in Fenwick Island DE. Went this past Tuesday to a new to me spot with my buddy Eric and caught a catfish. This is about a mile from where the Delaware river goes out into the Delaware bay... With a view like this I was hoping to catch some huge mutant of a fish here lol

Heres a picture of the cat...
