Loxahatchee 6-13

Featured Replies

Went out today with Bruce (bocabasser) for a half day trip to Loxahatchee. Real tough conditions...bluebird skies and no wind. We did pretty good under the circumstances, I think...we caught about 20-25 fish with a 7.32lb and a 4.40lb and a couple in the three range. maybe 20lb bag. Caught fish pretty much everyway possible, today...topwater, cranks, worms, pitchin, flippin, jig...

Bruce is a great guy to fish with and he's one hell of a fisherman. Little doubt in my mind why he is the reigning King of the Glades.

I'm a little concerned that this good fishing at Lox is gonna slow down a little bit. Fish were much tougher to catch today than on Saturday. Flats are considerably shallower than a week ago and they're really heating up. 91degree water temp when I left @ 2:00 today.

had a great time mike. that 7 pounder slammed your bait! next time we fish, we go to the lake. i'm off until late august, so let me know when you are ready.

Nice bass. Sounds like the bass are still biting for you guys. It looks like the rainy pattern we were in is gone...as a benefit keeping the water temps down. That water will heat up fast in the flats as they get shallow.

I might get a chance to get out to Lox on Friday afternoon.

Hey Bruce, congrats again on the crown!!

nice lands guys great catches.

Look like you guys did great ! Not that anyone is interested, but I've fished all kinds of place between Hobe Sound and Jap Rock, one week total 3 snook and 1 cuda about 40" off the beach on topwater, and didn't see a sole catching anything on bait either. Went offshore and entire day without 1 bite, pretty dead I'd say. On a side not a bait soaker off the LW pier caught a big cuda, big big snook and kingfish, just a place I don't care to fish, piers are too high for my taste.

Nothing like an angry toad slamming a topwater on a quiet morning!

I'm definitely going to take you up on that lake trip.

Nice job fellas! I wish we could get on Lox at night.

Yeah, Shane, it would be awesome to fish Lox at night. Might need a blood transfusion after those mosquitoes got done with you, though.

I believe Bruce is fishing with Steve Waters today, outdoors writer from the Sun-Sentinel. All So Fla members....keep an eye out for the article, which should be printing in the coming days.

Good report thanks!

I went to Lox yesterday for the first time since Bruce and I went out on 6/13. Nice overcast day...relatively cool, decent breeze. I fished from 2:30-6:30. The bite wasn't great...fish were really scattered, but the ones I found were active. I got a 4+ and my biggest of the year out there...8.16lb. 25.5" long and F-A-T. I was thinking "9" when I lipped her, but the scale don't lie.

My last four trips out there= 10 fish over 4, two 7s and an 8. I wish this weather would blow over...I'm itching to get out there...

Great fish, Mike. Bet that was fun. This weather lately has been killing me. I'm itching to get out and go fishing, but I'll be damned if it isn't blowing at least 30 mph outside right now. I'd get blown right off the lake. If you and Bruce go to Okeechobee tomorrow, be careful. I'd hate to be out there if its blowing like it is today.

You've been on fire lately, Bruce. I bet you're glad as hell you're free until the end of the summer. :D Making up for some of that lost time during the rest of the year aren't you.

a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile eric. going to lox late morning with mike---join us. heck yea i'm making up that lost time!

Wish I would have checked the boards last night and I would have taken up the offer. I've got some work I need to do around the house anyways. Good luck today. Go get em.
