Featured Replies

I'm headed out to black lake at the end of the month for the first time. Any suggestions where to start. Thanks

Small world, I drive up there on the 20th for a week stay. Will PM you.

I haven't been up there in a couple years, but my experience has been simply to drive around, and locate good, healthy weedlines. I know that sounds hinky, but that lake is "fish soup." It's really that easy to get bit.

Well that does rather describe it...weed line in 3-8 foot of water was golden.

Btw when will you be there? I am fishing the 21st thru the 27th.

Thanks J Francho, that's what I have been reading. Brian I will be fishing up there the 27th - 29th.

Great Lake! I was their June 23rd – 30th. Last year we crushed them every day in any location. This year was a little different. The water was down 4 to 5ft. Most of the north part of the lake was matted over with dead weeds. On the cloudy days we would just drift in 3-5ft fan casting and would do ok. On the sunny days we would do the same thing in 7-10ft. I did the best going down south and DS deep for smallmouth. On the last two days the wind changed direction and pushed the big girls to a couple specific locations and we crushed them. PM me for details.
