With the big race this weekend i want to stay away from the Concord area completly. I assume Massasassic will be crowded as it is Sunday. I think i will head west from Nashua but i have never been in that area to fish. I am willing to travel about 1/2ish hour or so, Suggestions? Milford area? Glen lake? Wilton ? anyone know how to access Babbossic in Merrimack/Amherst? Otter pond too busy on the weekend?

Stay away from Glen lake as it sucks. Hit up Otter pond in Greenfield or Great pond in Kingston.

Yes. But I just remembered that you have a jon boat. Might be a little big for it, but you can try. I believe it's off old boston rd. Lights turn left. . 5 to the ramp on the left. Bring your anchor as its open to the wind. There are so good size bass in there. Good luck.

Kingston lake has a launch right off of rt 111, super easy to get to. I just went yesterday again, it's a great place to fish, and a jonboat is perfect, I fished the entire pond in my canoe many times. An anchor would be a good idea, as some sections can get breezy.

I agree with deak, but I hope you have a gas motor or your trolling motor battery could be dead by the time you fish the whole lake. BTW I was told there are smallies there yet I have never caught one

I use my trolling motor the whole time, no problem. Its not as big as you remember perhaps.

My skills are sharp BUD and I did not say bass are not there, just not in great numbers. IMHO there are much better places to fish. To each his own.

Regarding Kingston Lake, is the parking for residents only? If not, can I launch a bass boat in there? I have 4WD and am used to rough launches.

There's a public launch there to the left. Can be tough to park on the weekends. Where do you live in Beverly?

I am on the north side, off Grover St. I have a 17' fiberglass bass boat. I am an expert at launching it at places people don't think I can. But it's still frustrating there are so few places to fish. I learned to bass fish in Minnesota where all lakes have public ramps, most paved. And fish & game pays attention to fishery quality. I have been considering getting a Hobie kayak and focusing on smaller ponds.

There are alot of good places to fish in mass as well. I lived there for 18 years. I grew up and Salem, MA and still have family that lives in Beverly and Salem. NH is alot better though in my honest opinion though. Check out the Clarks book if you have one and it will give you some spots to fish. I have a 18' Basstracker and am also getting a heavy duty inflatable for some smaller waters up here. I did have one for many years and caught a ton of big bass in it, but I left it out and a tree fell on it (big hole). Good luck. If your up in Nashua area let me know.
