Right Before The Storm!

Featured Replies

Really good day of fishing this past Wed. all me and my buddy threw were crankbaits, the bite was pretty slow in the A.M. believe it or not, and picked up around 11A.M. to 2P.M. fish a drop off near the main channel and were on fire for about three hours. It was awsome.

Great fish!!!

I find that fishing before a storm is bar none the most productive condition for me. When you sense that it 'feels' like rain, the pressure is dropping quickly, which activates the bass. I have not had this be a 3 hour window before though. Usually for me it is about a 30 minute window right prior to the storm. I love to fish RIGHT before a storm hits, provided I know I can be off the water soon enough.

For bigger game, there is the thought that animals know the storm is coming but they don't know how long it will last, so they want to feed up well in case they have to wait the storm out for a long time to feed again. Not heard of this mentioned with bass much, but it certainly applies to other animals.

Just before a storm has always been good for me. Of course then you're out there waitin to get caught in it--but so what.

WTG and I like just before fronts as well :wink2:
