I'm going to the Occoquan out of fountainhead on a rental boat and was curious about what areas and techniques are working at the moment. If anyone has any good tips they would be greatly appreciated.

From the marina you can go to the right up the the big structure jutting out into the water. This is the old dam and fish right across the entire lake from side to side. Also the point directly across from the ramp is good with shakey and Carolina rigs

Aj, just type the name of the body of water in the search function and you will literally get years of posts with tips. Love to hear how it went.

it went pretty well, my dad caught 4 on a senko, i got tons of bites on jigs around 3/8 to 1/2 ounce but i am still learning to jig fish so no keepers on that but i did catch one on a crankbait on the point across from the boat rental. that is a great spot thanks quanjig

You are very welcome aj! Glad you and your dad were able to catch a couple! If you plan on fishing the res more, I would highly recommend you pick up a lake map and look for similar spots that produced for you and go exploring! It is a great fishery and it's hard to believe that it is so close to a large metropolitan area, enjoy!
