Powell Max Jerkbait Vs Michael Murphy Jerkbait Rod

Featured Replies

After the great responses these two rods seem what people were reccommending. Now unfortunately no place around me carries either of them and i will be purchasing blind. Has anyone used both of these rods and if so how do they compare to one another.

I've never used the murphy, but any Powell is simply the best rod for less than $200. No other rods compare, and I will be purchasing MANY more powells in my future.

I've never tried a powell , But the Murphy rod is outstanding. I actually like it better than the loomis 782 or falcon weightless worm which I always loved to throw vision 110's and mcstick's on table rock .

Also it's a great spook/dog x and yellow magic or popper rod..

I fished another rod in the rosewood series this past saturday with a 13 inch G0 2 paddle tail on a chompers wobble head 30 feet down and was blown away by the sensitivity of that blank..

Nothing against powell but the Murphy rod from Denali will be a lot lighter and more responsive as it is a graphite rod, the Powell max is a composite which means it uses some type of glass in the blank to give it flex.
