Live Target Crankbaits!

Featured Replies

I admit they caught my eye but they have caught fish for me as well. I've used the shallow craw crank in mustard running over shallow grass during the spring and before the heat wave to pull fish up and gotten hits when others couldn't fishing the same area. The bluegill cranks in the gloss pattern have also produced for me very well.

yes.. I swear by them. I have caught Bass, large perch, walleye, pickeral, rainbow trout, brown trout, and large crappie on my 1/2 oz lipless golden shiner. The bluegill pattern has netted me a few nice bass too!

After fishing plastics yesterday I decided to try the craw crank as the lake is low and weedy with the crank running right over the tops of the weeds and after 4-6 casts I had caught 4 fish.

For what it's worth Matt, the Academy on Seigen Lane not far from you sells a brand of cranks called H2O express (house brand.) The bluegill and craw cranks are similar in color and profile, and they really tear bass up. I still have the first ones I bought of each and they have been catching fish for over a year. They also cost south of four bucks. I would check em out next time you are in BR.

P.S. The H2O Express bluegill popper is also my highest producing lure to date. ;)

Are you guys replacing the original trebles on these Live Target cranks? I for one don't replace all my crank bait trebles unless they're really garbage. I dont fish tournaments and rarely to I ever lose a fish on the crankbaits I throw, so no need. I was just curious if the hooks that come on these are quality. I'd hope so for $13 a pop but I really would like to try them out because the detail on these are incredible.

Also how well does the paint stand up? Do they chip really easy?

Love the matte bluegill cranks.
