Vintage Curado

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

My buddy was at a flea market and bought a brand new vintage Shimano Bantam Curado CU 200 (Right Hand) I'm Near Mint Condition. With a tiny scratch on the top. He got it for $20.00. My question is, what is the reel worth?

Thanks,

-zildjian

They sold new for $120. I have 8 of them and wouldn't sell them because I don't think you can find a better reel for the money today. Fish with it and enjoy.

I think they go for a little over $60 on the bay. Great reel, I owned a 201 bantam curado for a few months.

Priceless! I own four of them and wouldn't sell either for any amount of money. Great fishing machine.

If it is in the condition you describe it could go for $55 to $100 easily, depending on who wants it. I'd guess $80 on average.

I just sold 2 on ebay this spring, one was a CU200B 3.8:1 the other a CU200B 5:1, both went for over $110.00, he got a great deal, put a Smoooth Drag Carbontex drag in it and a set of abec7 bearings in it and it will be a much better reel than the new G series! I charge $65.00 for that super tune and inspection clean and lube. That would make it a $85.00 Curado on steroids!! In my book as good as the D or E, both bullet proof reels.
