Bass After A Ton Of Rain

Featured Replies

So here in Pa our small lakes were down and the fishing has been rough. Last night and today we got a ton of rain. What is probably the best strat for fishing on saturday?

I find they go into the newly flooded cover after the water comes up. Also, the rain will muddy up the water so find the new cover along with the clearest water and you should have some success.

If you have a feeder creek then I would head toward the shallows where the feeder creek is and fish all the cover and structure I could find, the newer, cooler, more oxygenated water will turn on the bite, if the water is stained then I would be tossing a spinner or something a little loud and flashy to attract some attention.

Good luck and be safe !!!

It really turned out to be a great day of fishing 22 teams and about 16 limited out (8 is the limit). In the morning they were really hugging the edges of the grass. We had a terrible day personally since I lost 3 fish on a frog and my partner lost a good 2-3lber at the boat before I could net it. This is how small the bass were at this lake. 1st was 8 fish for 10.08 lbs and the lunker was 3 lbs with no other fish over 1.88 lbs. All said we had a great time catching all those 10-11 inchers, lol.

After rain here in south gloria I have had great success. I caught mt first 5lb bass. The lake was flooded and the bass were coming up the bank eating all the bugs the can eat, so of course I took advantage of that and casted really close to the bank with a smoke mustard red trick worm and bang awesome day
