Paychex Punch Stops?

Featured Replies

I got a new Heavy action flipping rod and I'm trying to put the new Paychex punch stops on my line for flipping. But I cant for the life of me figure out how. Can anyone help out?

Thread about 6 or 8 inches of line through the thin wire eye at the end of the stop. Grab the disk with one hand and pull the rubber stop off the wire with the other, it will cause the line to double over so be sure to push the stop up the line and trim it above where it is kinked.

Thank you! I was lost when I was trying to get it on there. This is my first experience with braid and it isnt going smoothly. The line kinks badly after pitching the bait. Not sure if it's just me but it also continues to get uneven on my new revo s.

Glad the previous post helped. Not sure you are using common terms to describe your problem, kinking is not something common to braid.

My suggestion is make sure you are setting your reels brakes and spool tension correctly before you begin casting . There are many threads that give very detailed instructions on how to properly adjust a reel. Just do a little searching on the internet, or maybe someone here can post a link to a good thread.

Good Luck

When I pitch the bait the slack line kinda roll's up in wave's. Maybe it's just a braid characteristic. I'm just now learning and buying flipping and punching gear. I got 50lb braid on a new Revo S and a Heavy action 7' Veritas rod. Is that a decent setup?

It's a fine setup, sounds like you just need to do a little research on how to properly adjust a baitcaster. Don't worry most of us have shared in your misery, it will just take a little bit to get the proper adjustments and you will be casting like a pro in no time.

Yeah I'm gonna read the manual and play with the reel and find the sweet spot. Just didnt wanna mess up a brand new reel with it not being meant for braid.
