Shallow Water Slobs

Featured Replies

Had a small 3 hour tourney last night. 20 minutes into the tourney we had three slobs in the boat. All these fish came on a 3/4 oz spinner bait with a willow and colorado blade combo. All of them came in 1-5' of water. It was fun, considering the last couple weeks have been tough.

We took first but did not get big fish. Another boat saw us catch 3 right away and fished the same area. He only caught one fish, but it was a slob of a fish that was 20" long and weighed 5 lbs 13 oz. It was so fat it looked deformed. The one I'm holding in my left hand, (I'm the one not smiling in the blue shirt) is 19 3/4" and weighed in at 5 lbs 2 oz.

Not sure why I wasn't smiling.... these were caught on the Menominee River about an hour north of Green Bay, Wi. I'm sure these were fish that moved in off the bay.
