Flow-Rite Stuck In Auto - 01' Tracker 175 Tx

Featured Replies

I am the second owner 2001 Tracker TX 175 and fixing up some small stuff, I noticed the flow-rite valve control was stuck in Auto. Went to have my boat guy replace the switch while he did some small items. I was going to do it but said, what the heck, fix that too.

Called today and said the cable doesn't move. I did a search and it appears this is a big time Tracker issue.

Has anyone replaced the cable? My boat guy said he thinks the gas tank needs to be removed and it will not be cheap.

Anyone go thru this issue? Could it be the valve stuck more than the cable froze?

Thanks

Peter

Pardon my ignorance, but I have owed a 1986 and now own a 2004 Tracker, and never heard of a flow-rite valve control. The only cables on either of the boats were the throttle and the shift cables.

Right next to the throttle is a black lever control. It's for the livewell. Flow-rite makes all the parts for the lever, cable and valves. It's in either " empty or automatic".

It is probably in a bind and will not shift. I had the same thing happen on a stratos. It was from making too big of a turn. If there is anyway to reroute it so it is straighter it works much better.
