Buzzbait Vs Spook? Your Opinion

spook for open water, buzz the shore

I like both a Rebel Pop-r chrome/black back and Ribbit frogs are great to the Green pumpkin silver pearl belly.

Have to agree here. I also like a ghost popper as well. Ribbits are my all time favorite top water.

To the point... The spook is not nearly as weedless as a buzzbait. Keep that in mind when making your choice.

If one doesn't work in open water, just throw the other. Don't over think things. :D

Working a topwater mouse close to shore sure can be killer though...

I prefer the spook for open water but it does work great for calling up fish along bluff walls if it's fished right up against the wall. I also like the spook in clearer water because I can cast it a mile and cover a lot of water quickly. For heavier cover or dirtier water I prefer a buzzbait. If the fish are holding tight to the shoreline it's hard to beat a popper for being able to stay in the strike zone a long time.

I like the spook for open water, and right along the edge of a pad line. Buzzbaits are great anywhere there is some shallow water, or weedlines.
