Casting Rod!

Featured Replies

I need a new casting rod to pair with my okuma citrix. Im looking for something in the range of $50-$100. I want a 7' Medium-Heavy rod. I'll be using this rod for anything from topwater to deep diving crankbaits and soft plastic finesse fishing. What would you reccomend? Thanks!

veritas, the rod is extremely light, the sensitivity is up to par, the EVA grip on it has a comfortable feel to me, the white looks great,it has a ton of back bone, there are multiple models for plenty of techniques, their durability is great i have one thats been abused and no issues, they fixed the breakage issue and had great customer service when I complained, and cast well. I own five of them inluding the micro guides and cranking models. They are just solid rods. you can also find them on ebay for 80 shipped.

+2 on the Veritas...

BUT, dont overlook the Powell Deisel rods. they have a 723C that I think you would love for $70.

I would highly recommend you taking a look at the Denali Jadewood 7' MH Worm/Jig rod for $99. Denali is making top of the line rods and for the price, the Jadewoods are hard to beat. They also have a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

A few more options are the Daiwa Jupiter rod at Walmart, the Daiwa T, and Ballistic, Falcon Original, Shimano Compre and Sellus just to name a few. Your choice isn't exactly limited in that price range. :)

Veritas is great. I will be obtaining one in the future. Also look into the Vendetta, its strong as hell. The M is like a MH. I use a Curado 50E with 12# YoZuri on one, and it can handle just about anything.

Veritas is the way to go - I have 3 of them. But if you don't want to spend $100, Vandetta's are like $59.99 at bass pro since the new models are coming out.
