Sure Set Hooks

Featured Replies

Does anyone use the Sureset Hooks with the one larger treble hook?  If so, how what are the best baits to use them on?  Do you put them on the front or back hook for crankbaits?

im not so sure the hooks are anything more than a gimmick. i always replace my the sure sets on DT series baits with owners hooks now and land more fish.

Bypass the Sure Set hook & go for the Owner 2X black ST-41. Best treble hooks on the market IMHO.

I don't much care for them.  Many anglers snip 2 of 3 hooks off a treble or use a siwash hook.  If I have a broken hooks on my trebles, I just use them that way, caught dozens of snook and dozens of lmb on the same beat up xrap without replacing hooks

when i get a bait with two suresets on it, i remove the front sureset and put it on the rear of another bait, so that way both baits have a standard treble on the front and a sureset in the back.

my view on it: suresets don't hurt to have, but don't go out of your way to get them either.

good concept , but sure-sets are some weak hooks , if you are serious about your lures and want the best hooks on them , replace them with Owner ST-41's , simply the best money can buy ...........

. Great hooks if you like losing baits.
