Well browsing at Academy today I found a few good buys in the clearance bin. I found some Stanley Bull Ribbit frogs for 1.31 a pack. I also have a pack of Zoom Horny Toads I got a yardsale for .25. Now, I've never, ever, ever fished a frog before. I'll be throwing it on a mh/f fenwick eagle. Is the rod alright? Any tips on presentation ect.ect...?

You should be using a 7' + rod with H power. This is definitely critical to pulling those guys out of the pads and thick weeds. You also need to be using Braid. I personally use 50 lb power pro.

As far as presentation i usually throw it out and let it sit for 10 seconds. Then just start bringing it stopping a few times and start it again. Its pretty simple

you can get away with a mh heavy rod just compinsate with about 50 lb braid  hell i have pulled them out with my medium spinning rod all the time with 10 lb braid  just keep tension on line

One thing i have learned is always be prepared when you fish. If you go in under prepared you could lose a fish of a lifetime. If you are using what you say that you are there is a good chance of losing that 10+ lb that you always dream of

I've caught plenty of fish with this type of lure on M and MH rods and 15# braid. Even though I've fished some thick weeds, I haven't had a problem. Go heavier if you think the cover is too heavy for what you're using.

Both my partner and I generally fish these type lures like a buzzbait in water where a weedless presentation is needed. If the surface is non-weedy I'll use something else. My partner loves his Horny Toads so much that he'll often use them in open water.
