Chronarch D Or Core 100

Featured Replies

I can get both for a similar price. Really leaning towards the Chronarch. The D is light enough to were the weight savings of the core isn't an issue. If anything I'm thinking the chronarch may feel more solid and not as "hollow".

So before I pull the trigger, does the core have anything other than weight on the chronarch?

The Chronarch D is an absolute workhorse.... A buddy of mine has one he uses in both fresh and saltwater, and he beats the heck out of it and it's smooth as butter.

Love them both, but if I had to choose, I would go with the Chronarch D.

I'm surprised by the recommendations so far. I do not own the D, but I have two

Chronach 50mg, a Scorpion (super tuned) and both the 50 and 100 Core. I also

have the Curado 50E and 200E (both super tuned). Among these reels, the "best

value" are the Curados, the best reels are the Cores and the 50mg is my favorite!

I have yet to get a Core but I don't think I will seeing as how my Chronarchs feel soooo good. I own one D series but I actually prefer the older and heavier B series. They just seem to feel extraordinary solid and smooth to me.

Those B's were special reels. Recently I tossed a buddies 10 year old SF and was blown away....he admitted to minimal maintenance yet it had an absolutely effortless spool start up. Just a joy to cast.

Man, I really miss my SF. It was my first top shelf reel...someday I need to replace it.
