Super Fluke

Featured Replies

Would you consider a zoom super fluke a senko type lure? and do they work as drop shot baits?

I often use the smaller 3" & 4" size fluke style plastics on my drop shot (nose hooked). Even the 3" Suggos make excellent DS baits. That's not to say that the larger sizes can't be used this way either. That's the beauty (and challenge) of fishing!

Fluke style plastics are not usually fished like stick baits (such as Senkos). Sticks are effective on their own, as they fall, with little or no action imparted by the angler, whether rigged Texas or wacky style. "Dead sticking" can be employed as well.

Fluke style baits are normally rigged Texas style or nose hooked and fished with a more aggressive action imparted by the angler.

Agree with Crestliner. Flukes are jerkbaits, Senkos are stick baits.

Fluke = jerkbait and a darn good one at that :) but yes i have the small ones for drop shoting

been using the 4" flukes on a double rig and the bass can't resist  :)

I see no resemblance between a fluke and a senko,

but every lure can be fished in a number of ways, it's entirely up to the angler.

It's usually a mistake to confine any lure to a rigid niche,

because some of the most successful techniques are off-label, so to speak.

All that said, I work a zoom fluke in darts between the water surface and about two-feet deep.

In contrast, I allow stick worms to shimmy all the way to the bottom,

then hoist the worm rapidly back to the surface to repeat the vertical delivery (Yamamoto-style).

Tiny Flukes in pearl and baby bass for drop shot baits.  Nose hooked with some Smelly Jelly smeared on them. Can't wait for May.

While a senko is considered a "stick-bait", I have had success using a "jerkbait" style retrieve with them.  Especially if they are rigged wacky style.
