I dont have a jack plate on my boat but was wondering if it was possible to mount the power pole to the motor bracket that gets mounted to the boat and operates the electric trim, Its a 115 optimax. I hate the idea of having to drill holes in the boat.

yes. they have mounting plates that go between the motor and transom. port or starboard. just make sure you get the right one.

Will this require me to remove my outboard though, I'm trying to do the installation myself. The mechanic wants 500 bucks

On mine I had to remove the mounting bolts to move the engine back a 1/4". The mounting plates go between the engine and transom.

Yes, you'll need to remove your motor. Also make sure you use a very good waterproof sealant to prevent leaks.
