Vmc Or Stroker Swim Bait Hooks

Featured Replies

I want to give the  Rage rig a shot. I have narrowed my choice of two hooks, the Moaner Stroker 1/4 oz and the VMC Ike 1/4 oz.

Which do you think would be better for the Rage Rig? I know the Stroker was made for the rig and falls even, but has anyone used the VMC's yet to try it?

The Strokers are a bit cheaper.

Thanks in advance

I used Luck E Strike brand made with gamakatsus. Works great for me. About $4 for 4 at bps.

Here in MA, lead jigs & hooks have been banned, to supposedly protect the environment and wildlife. I suspect many other states to follow suit in the very near future. With that in mind, for those of you interested in lead alternatives, I purchased a bunch of un-lead swimbait hooks that have worked very well for me here. A pic of what I'm talking about:

They use the Owner hooks & Owner straight line retaining spring. Caught a bunch of quality smallmouth this past spring with this set-up. This particular bait is a 5.5" Shadalicious and the weight is 5/8 oz.. Great river lure. :)
