Just got done snow blowing (round 1) and I have lousy gloves which got me thinking. I want to find a pair of gloves that I could use early season and late season fishing that would be warm, dry, and flexible. I looked at BPS and they have neoprene gloves but they have slits in them. I want something light weight

The slits are a good thing.  They let you tie knots and stuff without taking your gloves off.  Winter conditions, I generally carry several pairs of gloves.  Thick warm ones for when you're running.  Neoprene gloves, ragg wool gloves ( with & without fingers) and a pair of polar fleece gloves.  I like having options when it is cold out.  If one pair gets real wet, just put on another.

On an episode of Classic Patterns with Alton Jones I saw recently, he recommended using Dry Joy golf gloves.  Probably similar to these...

I fish all through the Winter and have tried all kinds of gloves. I like the golf glove idea, although I haven't tried that I have tried batting gloves and they were O.K. These days I mostly use mechanics gloves, there are several brands that aren't expensive but allow plenty of "feel". Check them out at Lowes or a similar type store. Most of these aren't waterproof, so that's the downside. The best outdoor-type glove I ever had were shooting gloves from 10X - Very thin synthetic leather with a tiny bit of Thinsulate, and Gore-Tex, too.

I found them at the Bass Pro outlet store and bought one pair, then went back the next week and bought another. They have long since gone to great glove graveyard in the sky, and I realize I should have gone and bought every one of them I could find in my size, as I've never seen that exact glove again.

There's another lesson I didn't learn then - if you find something you really like, you had better buy a lifetime supply 'cuz they will quick making it. :'(

I use the Under Armour fleece gloves. They are warm, dry, and everything else you are looking for in a glove. They are the same ones KVD was using during the Classic, although he did copy off of me because I do believe I had them first. They'll run you around $30 or so and you can get them at almost any sporting goods store.
