Startling Topwater Strike (Video)

Featured Replies

I went fishing last weekend on my small pontoon, and attached my GoPro camera to the front for giggles. Didn't have much luck, only caught four bass, all of them dinks. It's still in the mid to high 80's here and the water temperature is still sky high. I expect it to pick up in November.

At any rate, I was reeling in my Rage Tail toad and was just about to lift it out of the water when this bass nailed it, which startled me being so close to the boat. The bass was only a little over a pound, but I thought the video was still cool enough to be worth sharing. Nothing like a topwater strike, especially so close.

Nice footage. It would fit in nice with a montage of strike footage. Keep filming!

That's why I love topwater so much. You never know when the strike is coming. Cool Vid. Interesting camera angle mount.

Top water is king. I have caught some 1-2# fish after taking a fish off my line and dangling the lure off the side of the boat. Scares the bejesus outta ya
