I'm looking to try a new brand of reels, I'm a Abu Garcia fan, and I love their reels. Yet I want to expand my horrizon and get a couple reels for Christmas. I was thinking between the $60-$70 for the baitcaster and $50-$70 for the spinning reel. Not too to expensive, because I gotta buy rods for them. So I need suggestions for which baitcaster, and spinning reel I should get.

I wouldnt go any lower than the Revo S. I know its out of your range, but they are the best inexpensive one they have worth buying IMO.

For spinning tells I would recommend either the Pflueger President, the Shimano Sedona, or the Shimano Sahara. The Sahara is normally $80, but i've seem it on sale for $60 several places lately.

If your adding a 2nd 3rd etc reel to your collection and have one already that is working, don't scrimp on price. Price does reflect quality.

Bass Pro has the PQ for 100 and under that is about the less expensive reel that I would suggest owning. The new Revo S is bar far my favorite of all my BC's and like LMG said its about the least expensive reel they make that I would consider owning now.

I'd spend a little more on a casting reel, especially if buying new; compared to a spinning reel.

As far as a spinning reel goes, the Shimano Sedona is a fantastic reel, and has become my #1 choice in this price range. When considering a baitcast reel, I would not consider anything under the $100.00 mark unless you buy used. Look for a used Shimano Citica 200E.

instead of buying a 120 on reels and 120 on rods, i would suggest one quality rod and reel. you will definitely be able to get a really decent set up for those prices.

I think you can find a good enough spinning reel in that price range and all the previously mentioned spinning reels would be what I would recommend. The President and Sahara would be nice. But, also, like mentioned above, I wouldn't spend less than 100 on a bait caster. You can get the BPS PQ for around 100, Shimano Citica for around 130, and the Abu Garcia Revo S for around 130. If you're an Abu fan, can't go wrong with the Revo S. Honestly, if I was you, I would rather put the costs together and get one solid set up as opposed to two less expensive rigs. You could drop a Revo S on a 100-150 dollar rod and have a pretty sweet set up that could last you for a very long time. Other cheaper reels might not last and will not be worth repairing either.

for spinning you can get president combos at a lot of sporting goods stores for $79. cabelas has them for $69 now (at least in wichita) i hve 4 of there combos that i use for crappie and 2 i use for dropshot and walleye rigs. good stuff for the money

Your right, I'll get a spinning set up early, late summer. I'm probably gonna go with the Revo S, and spend all the money on that. Thanks for you help!
