bass lures for saltwater fish

Featured Replies

Will saltwater fish bait bass lures spinnerbaits cranks soft plastics etc..?Also what could I use bass lure wise fishing from the beach?

YES SIR!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen many reds caught on senkos and snook on cranks just match the hatch and try some good sized swimbaits

Not sure where, or what species you're fishing for, but lipless cranks (esp. the older saltwater Rattlin' Raps), fin-s jerkbaits, bombers, poppers (chug bugs etc.) and bucktail jigs will all work.  I fished the surf for striped bass for many years, where fish would range from 8-40lbs, and all of the above worked well at times.  I did fish a lot of larger plugs though, like bomber long A's and wooden plugs.

I fish salt and fresh nearly everyday and I use much of the same equipment in both environments.  IMO fish are fish, for example I may catch a snook on a med rod  using 1/4 oz storm swim shad or xrap, still on the rod I'll stop on my way home and fish bass with it.

Just to add to what has already been said, I've caught halibut and barracuda on spinner baits, plus a football jig is a great bait for catching Calico Bass on jetties.

Yes, they work, I've got friends that catch Halibut on Flukes and Lucky Craft Pointers. I really need to get down there and catch some with them.

I know you said bass lures, but I seem to have lots of luck fishing got-cha lures.  I catch blues flounder and spanish and king mackeral of piers or in the surf.

X2  I also have great success drop shotting flashtrix, and that fishbelly hawg shad for halibut, and other species.
